I’d be being called a monster who should never be allowed near children

I would hope, if anyone says that to you, you set them straight! Children need structure and consistency until they become old enough to actually make their own decisions! And, if it's the wrong decision, they need to have been taught there are consequences!

Just about anywhere else, I’d be being called a monster who should never be allowed near children.

And this is why so many children are adrift these days. No clue about personal responsibility, about their place as kids.

Good evening, Perky...((gentle HUGS))...is it that time again? Hopefully we will get them thru our employer this year, same as last.

Our immediate area didn’t get any last year. Had to go elsewhere to get one.

We haven’t had any problems getting them all over town in years past, but it is really cool to be able to get them at work. They come to us and the company does the insurance billing.

I think a lot of large companies do that. When our clinic gets them, they are on a first come, first serve basis and they are free. They do keep a jar on the counter for anyone who wants to make a donation but it is not asked of you. I always stick a ten spot in and hope it helps...lol.

Last year they offered both the flu and the obama swine flu one. No way was I doing swine flu. I must say I haven’t really had hard core flu for years. Knock on wood.

We were at CVS Pharmacy today, and noticed they had a sign-up for a shot clinic on Tuesday. We asked if we could get ours now (since we’ll be out of town on Tuesday) and the pharmacist said “sure!” (He said we were first!) This year, it’s a combo 2-in-1 vaccine (seasonal flu + H1N1). They billed our insurance (Tricare Prime Remote) ... so no out-of-pocket costs for us since we’ve already maxed out copays for the year (thanks to my high RX costs.)

Last year we got our shots on September 1 (first day they were offered anywhere) and our H1N1 about 4 weeks later ... so I was surprised to see them available as of August 19! YAY! (I say “yay” because my wonderful DH leaves on September 2 for Ukraine (flying commercially) and I’m delighted he could get vaccinated BEFORE he travels over there!) With my diabetes and asthma, I’m high risk and always want to get my flu shot(s) as early as possible, too. But getting yours at work? Cool beans!!!

If it’s a combo this year, I won’t get one! I want nothing to do with the H1N1 vaccine!
