Rocker John Mellencamp likens Internet to A-bomb
Yahoo - Reuters ^ | 08/18/10

Rocker John Mellencamp said on Tuesday that the Internet was the most dangerous invention since the atomic bomb, although new technology could paradoxically delay the inevitable demise of rock 'n' roll.

But before then, "some smart people, the China-Russians or something" may have already conquered America by hacking into the power grid and financial system, he warned during a public seminar at the Grammy Museum.

Mellencamp, 58, has established a reputation during his career as a bit of a loose cannon disdainful of music industry niceties. He still lives in his home state of Indiana, saying he never fit in elsewhere.

Rock stars are surrounded by sycophants who swoon at every word that comes out of the rock star’s mouth.

Rock stars, therefore, can’t be blamed for thinking that their IQ of 85 is Mensa level.

JM obviously thinks he’s an Einstein. All his friends and hangers-on have been telling him for decades that he’s brilliant! And they laugh at all his jokes, too.

"I think the Internet is the most dangerous thing invented since the atomic bomb," he said. "It's destroyed the music business. It's going to destroy the movie business."

And John (you moron), your friend Obama will destroy the rest of our Nation if left unabated.

Just another way of sayin’, “The Pen is mightier than the sword,” eh Mellonhead?

The Internet is the modern day pen.

They want to shut us up, because we do not parrot their collectivist statist world view.

Oh, by the way, Mellonhead, if the commies ruled, the way you want them to rule, you would never have amounted to anything more than a chump with a few mediocre songs and nowhere to record them.

And if the MoHamHeads rule, they will be sawing your head off slowly with a rusty butcher knife in front of the video cameras shouting, “Alahu Akhbar!”

The MoHamHeads HATE music, and they especially hate hedonistic musicians.

I saw a profile of him on VH-1 some years ago that eventually had me really chuckling.

It started off with him, pretty young, being surprisingly bright and articulate. He explained how, growing up, he didn't always make good choices. But he lucked out by getting into music. Now he had a chance to really take control, make good choices, and be the person he was meant to be.

Then it showed him, a few years older, being surprisingly bright and articulate. He explained how, when he first made it big in the music industry, he didn't always make good choices. But he straightened himself out. Now he had a chance to really take control, make good choices, and be the person he was meant to be.

Then it showed him, middle-aged, being surprisingly bright and articulate. He explained how his first marriage imploded -- mostly because he didn't always make good choices. But he straightened himself out. Now he had a chance to really take control, make good choices, and be the person he was meant to be.

Then it showed him, as a little bit of a has-been, being surprisingly bright and articulate. He explained how his second marriage imploded -- mostly because he didn't always make good choices. But he straightened himself out. Now he had a chance to really take control, make good choices, and be the person he was meant to be.

I decided that, while he might be articulate, and he might have some musical talent, he just wasn't bright.

“He still lives in his home state of Indiana, saying he never fit in elsewhere.”

He doesn’t fit in here, either, but I guess that having created him, we are stuck with him.

He is right about the Internet; it is destructive.

All true instruments of change are.

The Internet has changed the music business and is changing the movie business. Not destroyed them but changed them in ways that very few people imagined.

Change is inevitable. You adapt to change or it destroys you.

By the way where did all of the dinosaurs go?

Internet is our last line of DEFENSE - people that is.

Both LEFT and RIGHT should UNITE and fight to keep it accessible open and free from influence.

Right now ELITES are happy to simply SPY on us. So it is still open and accessible to us.

Once they determine internet is being used to bring them down, they would shut it off and it would be AS EASY as turning off the switch. Laws are already in place and President has those powers, Courtesy of President Bush.
