A 5’ ultralight and a floatnfly. These were freshwater shellcrackers or bream.

Nice reply. If you had framed the original post in the context you just wrote, the bashing would have been less.

Please understand, there is a fraternity-like hazing new members go through here. If one comes across as a Dorfman on initial exposure you have to expect your car to get trashed.

All meant in a good way as it weeds out the true trolls.

Welcome to FR.

I will try that! What do you use for the dredge?

Ah, got it. Shellcracker is the affectionate name for saltwater sheepshead in these parts.

They have human like teeth for crushing up shell critters.

Just go to google.com
and choose advanced search

enter: fish kill
into the box titled “this exact wording or phrase”

expand the “Date, usage rights, numeric range, and more”
and at the “date” selection, choose “past month”

Hit the “advanced search” button

You should get about 139,000 hits.
My conclusion after looking through about 50 pages of links was that there is an unreported nation-wide fish kill in progress;

blamed on a variety of causes:
heat, algae, red-tide, low O2 levels, foam, oil spills, toxic run-off, intentional poisoning, natural selection and in many cases unexplained or under investigation.

Dredge? Cornmeal and zatarains, salt, pepper, and soul food seasoning.

Yeah, I figured that’s what species you were referring to. Nice teefies.

This subject wasn’t “distasteful” but the combo of environmental concern and your signup date did arouse suspicion.

Your response is fair as is your explanation of your intent.
