GOP with historic lead in generic congressional ballot

Rick Moran

More than anything, I think this shows that voters are simply giving up on Obama and his agenda. They don't think he has a clue about how to get the economy moving again and create some jobs. As Allah points out , they don't seem to like the GOP any better than the Democrats, but the toxicity of Obama is dragging the Democrats to utter destruction:

The most amazing thing about this? When Democrats tell people that voters hate the GOP as much as they hate them, they're not blowing smoke. That's basically true. In fact, in many polls, the Republican Party's favorables are still lower than the Democrats'. And even so: Biggest generic ballot lead ... in history. That's how popular Hopenchange is.

The flip side of that calculus, of course: Imagine what the lead would be like if people liked the GOP.

just sitting back and riding hate for the Democrats to victory, what could be a 40 seat swing might balloon into something much higher.

"How about the GOP leadership coming up with a positive, innovative, comprehensive, optimistic plan to revitalize the economy?"

I have an idea. How about we elect new leadership. True leadership.

All signs point to the GOP coming out with a ‘Contract With America’ type statement at some dramatic event in early September.

One of our big PR problems, and one that zer0 is capitalizing on, is that the BEST solution to our problems is to go back to old, tried and true capitalistic principles.

zer0 hammers us because we offer nothing “new.” That is a convincing argument because we need policies that are already known to work.

We need to refute this argument and change the debate somehow.

It better not be some compassionate conservative watered down crap. The GOP has a way of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I am greatly enjoying the RATS and their media stooges whistling past the graveyard and caliming RAT losses will not be huge. Bob “The Pig” Beckel had me laughing last night with his angry denials.

We cannot assume that this generic ballot is what will happen. If we really want “Change” then we will have to work at and force the leaders to accept the conservative message that less government, spending, and lower taxes. Period! Time for major layoffs in DC!!

It will be tragic for this country if the Republicans take over in January and do nothing to insure that a voting majority will never again flirt with the ideas and promises of the Democratic Party. So far, I am not encouraged as I have absolutely no idea what the Republican agenda is were they to find themselves in a Congressional majority. Just electing inexperienced and vocal Tea Party conservatives to office will not get it and in fact, may be the worst thing that could happen as longer term consequence. Please tell me what conservatives are going to work towards (other than blunting the Obama socialist agenda) as a matter of me voting for them in November.

I don't want the GOP to do anything to help the economy.

I want Obama to be beaten in 2012, and if America has to burn in the meantime so be it.

If Republicans regain control and manage to fix things... Obama will claim all the credit and we will be stuck with him for another 4 years and by then it will be too late to repeal healthcare. Our ONE chance to repeal it comes in 2012 assuming our candidate runs strongly on repeal if elected.

What the Republican party needs to do is gather politicians like Jindal, Palin, Hunter, Bachmann, and other conservatives and publicly announce a plan of action and solution concerning foreign policy, national defense, the economy, Social Security, taxes, etc.. This will help to identify a more clear and concise agenda. Americans will feel as those they have a more informed idea of what are candidates and representatives are seeking to accomplish as we approach this next election cycle.

Those disillusioned swing voters will also have an idea of what they have to look forward to under a conservative administration versas “Hope and Change”.

Your strategy is wanting. It is no different than saying, “No, don’t defuse the bomb.” Let it explode. If we defuse it, the bomber will claim all the credit and say that we wanted him to place the bomb so we could take the credit for disarming it.

If Conservatives don’t turns this showboat around, we may visit the Land of No Return. A vital issue here are our foreign policies. We may be dealing with NoKo and China in a very personal way concerning the nuke issues. And we have our enemies south of the border.

If you want to place ally our chips on this presidential election, be my guest. Until then, we’ll continue to battle the Beast from all fronts. We must.

Imagine what the lead would be like if people liked the GOP.

They do, whenever we replace RINOs with conservatives.

well... if you want a Republican to actually deal with China or NoKo in 2012 then you had better start hoping things stay in the crapper.

Because if Republicans retake both houses and turn things around... Obama will claim the credit, just like Clinton did when the Republicans bailed his failed presidency out.

I am more than happy to have gridlock and 10% unemployment for the next 2 years if it means getting rid of Obama for good.

Imagine this... Republicans retake both chambers of congress... start fixing things ... Obama take credit for the turn around then drops Biden and takes on Hillary for his re-election drive... he wins because the economy is looking better and we are not only stuck with him for another 4 years... but then Hillary is then set up for the next 8.... I don't know about you, but that's a risk I am not willing to take. I say let the Obama voters stay unemployed for the next two years and lets drive the Kenyan out of the US come 2012!

Whenever I hear Beckel talk, I think he is out of place. He doesn’t seem to be talking about modern day socialist progressive dems. He seems to be talking about the old Dem party, the ones that loved the USA, more populist.

He used to be a drinker. Maybe his brain cells are gone, because that party is gone, too.

Dick Morris said it. When BOR questioned him on using “We” when talking about a Republican win, Morris said he was a traditional democrat, but that the old Dem party was destroyed by Pelosi-Reid-Obama and he had no choice but to go with Republicans.

Obama has woken up the electorate - his one great acomplishment. He has forced old traditional Democrats to see their party has been replaced with socialism.

Don’t underestimate the ability of RINOs and other spineless limp-wrists to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Wait for “party elders” to support the Mosque, or Immigration reform or perhaps congratulate Hussein on his Supreme Court picks!!!

Don't get me wrong if the Republicans get control they DO need to do something... but here is what they need to do ...

Send a healthcare repeal bill to Obama OVER AND OVER... and a across the board tax cut to him OVER AND OVER... and a million other conservative things that we all know he will never sign. No compromise should be given, make him veto over and over and over conservative legislation, that way they look like they are TRYING to do something, it's just that mean ole socialist Obama that is causing the gridlock, and if only we could replace him in 2012... all these things could be passed.

See how it's played?

No matter how bad Novenber is for the Democrats you can expect Zero to double down on his agenda. I don’t believe that the November elections will change things as much as so many do.

Even if there is the BIGGEST turnover in history this November the Obama/Pelosi/Reid are such a pack of narcissist that they will come back during the ‘lame duck’ session and pass every far left-wing bill they can think of! They will burn the house down before they surrender it!

If you think or anyone thinks that a big loss in November will make one iota of difference in Obama and the ‘Demonrats’ leftist agenda you need to seek professional help immediately, because I assure you that the sounds you will hear coming from them after such a lost will not be the ‘wailing and nashing of teeth’ it will be the notes of El Degüello.

Don’t worry, Michael Steele and John Boehner will figure out how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Are you suggesting that Liberal voters will vote Conservative if we allow Obama to run this country into Kingdom come? If so, you’re more naive than the undecided voters.

Liberals vote liberal, regardless who is to blame.

How about those Kagan and Soto appointment? Wait until these “judges” really start interpreting from the bench. You thought the Eminent Domain vote was a travesty? Wait until these girls really start working the laws.

You don’t wait until the cancer has metastasized before you start treatment.

In case you missed the news, Obama flat-out stated that his job is to make sure Democrats remain in office during his Hollywood fundraiser last night. Funny, I thought our Commander-In-Chiefs job was to run a country.

At least Obama gets it despite the fact that you don’t. In order for him to continue to implement a radical agenda, he must have the support in both houses and from the bench.

Your strategy is to wait until we’ve lost all ground, then hope that we can make it up (and that is a big HOPE) IN 2012. And if we don’t, oh well. At least we didn’t try, right(?)
