U.S. Muslim leaders fear backlash as holiday to fall near Sept. 11

The lunar calendar that Muslims follow for religious holidays is creating a potential for misunderstandings or worse in a year when American Muslims are already confronting a spike in assaults on their faith and protests against new mosques.

Eid al-Fitr, a joyous holiday marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, this year falls around Sept. 11. Muslim leaders fear that their gatherings for prayer and festivities could be misinterpreted by those unfamiliar with Islam as a celebration of the 2001 terrorist strikes.

The Muslim Public Affairs Council, an advocacy group based in Los Angeles, is contacting law enforcement and the Justice Department civil rights division to alert them to the overlap.

The Islamic Circle of North America, which organizes Muslim Family Days at the Six Flags amusement parks in several cities around Eid al-Fitr, this year planned nothing for Saturday, Sept. 11, because of the anniversary. A founder of Muslim Family Day, Tariq Amanullah, worked at the World Trade Center and was killed in the attacks.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Washington-based civil rights group, is urging mosques to review the group's security guidelines, including clearing brush where people could hide and installing surveillance cameras.

Perhaps muslims should, you know, do what they whine about us never doing, that is, exercise some tolerance. If they really cared about not pissing off the kaffirs, they would mute their celebrations and keep them out of the public eye.

Of course, this form of "pre-whining" is just nothing more than a means of cover so that they have an excuse to celebrate 9/11.

Under Obama, Islam—less than a decade after an unprovoked attack on 3000 innocent Americans—is yet another Victim category.

We live in an insane world.

Must be afraid of other Muslims

Just like black-on-black violence is not reported, muslim-on-muslim violence is rampant.

“Gee...I wonder why they might feel insecure this time of year... “

I don’t understand that either!

Geesh, I’m glad I;m not alone.

Why, we’ve given up Ground Zero for them for a HUGE mosque and still they feel victimized.

What more can I personally do to make them FEEL BETTER?

Anything?

;)

So they want us to “understand” their joy on, or about September 11th as nothing more than they can have falafels again I take it.

I say up theirs.

Obama Pronounces Islam A Great Religion
From his fellow defenders of the faith at the Associated Press:

Obama hosts dinner for Islamic holy month
By ANN SANNER (AP)

September 1, 2009

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama on Tuesday praised American Muslims for enriching the nation’s culture at a dinner to celebrate the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

“The contribution of Muslims to the United States are too long to catalog because Muslims are so interwoven into the fabric of our communities and our country,” Obama said at the iftar, the dinner that breaks the holiday’s daily fast.

The president joined Cabinet secretaries, members of the diplomatic corps and lawmakers to pay tribute to what he called “a great religion and its commitment to justice and progress.”

Attendees included Congress’ two Muslim members — Reps. Keith Ellison and Andre Carson as well as ambassadors from Islamic nations and Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren…

Obama has made a special effort since taking office to repair U.S. relations with the world’s Muslims, including visits to Turkey and Cairo. In a June speech at the Egyptian capital, as well as in one to another important Muslim audience, in Turkey, Obama said: “America is not — and never will be — at war with Islam.”

The Moslems certainly believe in preemption. In an earlier thread this week they were already requesting police protection during Ramadamadingdong in some city, and now this preemptive whining about fears of a backlash.

What all this really means is that they know a backlash is 1,000% justified, at least in their way of thinking. That’s why they’re constantly worrying and whining about a backlash. They fear non-Moslems might start behaving the way Moslems behave.

I had a split second of living in past days today while driving to town.

I saw three young people sitting in the back of a pick up truck.

A glimmer of hope that the world would turn right upside again.

Have you noticed all these “ fear backlash stories” neutralize peoples motivation to act for fear they will be called names?
