Now, that's not to say that religion is without controversy. Recently, attention has been focused on the construction of mosques in certain communities -- particularly New York. Now, we must all recognize and respect the sensitivities surrounding the development of Lower Manhattan. The 9/11 attacks were a deeply traumatic event for our country. And the pain and the experience of suffering by those who lost loved ones is just unimaginable. So I understand the emotions that this issue engenders. And Ground Zero is, indeed, hallowed ground.
But let me be clear. As a citizen, and as President, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country. (Applause.) And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances. This is America. And our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakeable. The principle that people of all faiths are welcome in this country and that they will not be treated differently by their government is essential to who we are. The writ of the Founders must endure.

CNN poll shows 70% of Americans OPPOSE building of mosque at Ground Zero.
“According to the new survey out Wednesday, nearly 70 percent of all Americans oppose the controversial plan to build the mosque just blocks away from the solemn site in lower Manhattan while just 29 percent favor the construction.”

I wonder if the poll results would have been different if the question was, "Would you oppose the building of a mosque two blocks away from Ground Zero"?
Since part of one of the planes landing gear fell into and damaged the building there it certainly is part of Ground Zero

The question was:

(NOTE they did NOT phrase it, “where the 9-11 attacks murdered 3000 people in the name of Islam”)
It is very interesting to see the internals of the poll on page 8 of the pdf.
The opposition is pretty consistent around 70% among the various groups, significantly, even 58% “non-whites” oppose it, as well as 54% of Democrats, 70% of Independents.
Obama is waging “WAR ON AMERICA”.
And it was SOOOOOO offensive to hear him state, “As a citizen and the President...” That fraud bum is neither of the two.
Whenever Barry says “let me be clear”, as he does in the remarks above, watch out. It’s his “tell” that a whopper of one sort or another is coming.

Most consider Ground Zero to be the World Trade Center complex.
I don’t know why he felt it was necessary to make these remarks at a dinner intended for muslims only. Did he address any other sensitive issues at that dinner that were important to the rest of the nation? Why address any issues at all?
I guess I know the answer to that.....
Why don’t the American people remember his words before his election to POTUS that, if the chips are down that he would side with Islam? Even today many still don’t want to accept that he is a Muslim.
That's a whole other issue, and more in line with Obama's statement.

The words Obama said on Friday in support of this abomination he agreed to and proclaimed before all of those assembled and before the entire world OF HIS OWN FREE WILL. For him to now be saying that he did not mean what he said is ridiculous!. Obama is nothing but a liar following Satan, the Father of lies! He is not to be trusted, he is to be opposed and no matter what the "White House" says, we must all remember that according to taqqiya it is completely "kosher" in Islam for Muslims to LIE in order to deceive those who do not follow Islam = i.e., the "infidels", in order to gain your ultimate ends of conquest and total subjugation. The problem is; With his statement on Friday he once and for all told America and the World exactly which side he is on: He supports Islam and the enemies of the United States both at home and abroad. We have him speaking these words, on video. He can lie all he wants to and try to "Walkback" all he wants, but it is too late, he cannot undo what he has done; he has once and for all, pulled down his pants in front of the entire country, squatted on the hallowed 9/11/01 Ground Zero site and taken a huge PUBLIC DUMP UPON GROUND ZERO AND ALL OF AMERICA! After he was done, he got up, pulled up his pants, smiled, his narcissistic smile at the camera and said: "This is where I stand regarding America, Islam and Ground Zero."
