Poll shows Palin not the clear Tea Party favorite

It really doesn't matter how you or the left will attempt to influence the selection of the Republican nominee in 2012, the Tea Parties and conservatives with their eyes wide open can still see through this drivel and in no way will the right enthusiastically support Romney or Gingrich, IMO.

Romney and Gingrich represent the problem with our government today. The Tea Parties do not seem to be inclined to continue the status quo, so if your delusional quest to see a marxist-lite-commie-RINO running for POTUS in 2012 actually is successful, you will be insuring that Obama is not out of office until Jan 2017, or that we will have a RINO POTUS that will be just as destructive, IMO.

Mrs. Palin may or may not be the answer as far as who would be the best candidate for the Republicans in 2012, but Romney and Gingrich are most definitely not. CNN and their marxist brethren in the liberal dominated media will be more than happy to shred Romney or Gingrich in the 2012 campaign, and either would have no chance to win. This is blatantly obvious, IMO.

I don’t care about the poll, but I think Sarah is doing her country great service right now. She’s a powerful mobilizing force. I don’t think she could do more as president. Let someone else do the dirty work and get politically soiled as president; Sarah can best serve America by continuing to speak, raise funds, and mobilize us.

Good Lord palindrome, just read the data, they do break down by various affiliation groups and those don't match. As I pointed out in #36, the only place the numbers match CNN's report is by age break down for people 50 and over.

I understand that reading data is hard, but come one, at least try.

I know it is easy to just trust what the media says.. heck, the entire American Idol voting block does just that.. but this is Free Republic.. we are supposed to think here.

Fox News said their polling shows fully 50% of Americans don’t want Palin as Potus.

..and 53% of Americans voted for Obama.

Here's an idea: let's stop looking to government for solutions! My guess is, most Tea Partiers have already taken that step. It's the "Republican consultants" (especially ones found in a CNN reporter's Rolodex) who need to forget all about "solutions to the nation's problems" and instead remember "slowing down, shutting up, and getting out of the way."

That said, I find it hard to believe that Mister Massachusetts Health Care Reform will long remain at the top of these polls. Right now he's the anti-Obama in the sense that he is a competent human being with actual leadership and management experience... people will indeed be looking for that in 2012. But he isn't going to be the only one out there with a resume. It's too early to say which other candidates might prove more acceptable in terms of "getting it" about Stop Growing the Damned Government! Quit trying to find "solutions" to our "problems." It's not the government's job to fix our problems! It's our job. What we need the government to do is get out of the way.

And as much as I enjoy Sarah Palin, I don't think the country will want to replace the guy who didn't finish his first term in the Senate with the woman who didn't finish her first term in the statehouse. The country's going to be looking for somebody who's been around the block a few times, and who's been out after dark. I'm sorry, but Sarah's not there yet.

I agree. It occured to me that we may have a problem running anyone worth a damn. Have you considered what a new POTUS will inherit ? And unless Obama is removed from office, he will do untold damage between now and then.

One thing to point out is that we don’t even know if Palin will run, however, think of it in physics terms. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Right now Palin is just firing people up, however, when she comes up, there is a major negative reaction by those on the left. That causes supporters to react the opposite way and support her more (to the point of supporting her for the highest office in the land).

The right doesn’t want someone who gets along with the left, the right wants someone who drives the left nuts. So the more the left focuses on her and throws a fit, the more people are going to want to keep that reaction going.

Whether she is the best choice two years from now or whether she even runs or not is moot at this point. What is happening at this point is the reaction of the left.

Remember this:

All the polls that are being conducted are nothing more than attempts to raise money either by political candidates or the media. There is only ONE poll that is truly meaningful, and it happens on the first Tuesday on even numbered years.

Look at the left’s response in the 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections when President Bush won. The left was absolutely convinced, see the multiple recounts in Florida, that cheating had occurred because the electorate's votes didn't match any of their pre-election polls.

In 2010 the results aren't going to match any of the media's push poll results, potentially by a very large margin. So, rather than saying oops the left will immediately start yelling that massive cheating occurred in every election they lost. Kind of reminds me of my adult children when they were 3 to 5 years old.

The left never plays well if others.

Phoney polls help discredit the Democrats, Liberals, and Media.
Sarah is so much more qualified to be President than Mr. Obama ever was.
And her support is broad and deep. She has undermined most of her potential opposition and earned the support of the people she wants for 2012.
Many of the Tea Party folks are getting involved in campaigns and party activities, both Rep and Dem. That is the great power of a decentralized movement.
We are everywhere, and growing in number.
When the overt presidential campaign starts, there will be many surprises. IMHO
