SIERRA VISTA A Border Tea Party Rally will be held close to the fence separating the U.S. from Mexico.
The Sunday event on private property will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a stage 60 feet from the border.
A number of speakers will talk about border security, including Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, whose roundups of illegal immigrants have angered civil rights groups.
Also scheduled to speak is Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever and Arizona State Sen. Russell Pearce, one of the architects of Senate Bill 1070 calling for Arizona law enforcement agencies to question individuals investigated for alleged criminal activities if they are suspected of being in the country illegally. That portion of the law was shot down by a federal judge in Phoenix, the day before it was to go into effect July 29.
Another speaker is J.D. Hayworth, who is trying to oust U.S. Sen. John McCain in the GOP primary, claiming the states senior senator supports amnesty for illegal immigrants, which McCain denies.
Organizers had hoped Sharron Angle from Nevada, who will be taking on Democratic U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, would attend. However, she said Thursday she could not attend due to scheduling and logisitcal problems involving campaign obligations in Nevada. Angle, Arpaio, Dever, Hayworth and Pearce are Republicans.
The property is owned by Glenn Spencer, founder of the American Border Patrol, which is not associated with the U.S. Border Patrol.
Co-sponsors are United We Stand for Americans, Inc., and the United Border Coalition.

That is a tea party event that I would love to attend.
I live in Sierra Vista...I want to go. Any car poolers available?
I spend my winters in Sierra Vista, right now I am 2000 miles away but I’m jumping on a plane so I can attend this event. This is a far too important to miss.

If you want on, or off this S. Texas/Mexico ping list, please FReepMail me.
I will pray for the safety of all involved. After watching those videos of the brutal live executions by such barbaric monsters, they (and we) need all the prayers possible.

Anyone in the DFW area going down? My Jeep still needs work, so I don’t want to drive it, but would be very interested in carpooling. Some $$ for gas would obviously be contributed.
Just sayin’. It’s an option.
Or not, as I have a feeling that since the original article was posted on Friday, that the rally is TODAY, not NEXT Sunday as I had mistakenly understood initially.
So, if anyone has time travel powers and wants to come back and get me, that would be great. Otherwise, I’ll just keep you guys in mind and pray that things go well down there.

Has Angle made any good decisions?
