Disgruntled flight attendant Steven Slater might not be the working class hero we've declared him, or so say witnesses to the ordeal.
Passengers on board Monday's JetBlue flight where Slater made his infamous emergency exit say that it was Slater who instigated the fight with a passenger, cursing at her after she asked where her bag was stowed, The Wall Street Journal reported today
One passenger explained that while exiting the plane at John F. Kennedy International Airport, she overheard a young woman asking Slater where she could find her luggage before the interaction took a nasty turn. "I didn't think she was rude in the least," she said. "It really blew my mind. It was so inappropriate."
Another passenger told The Wall Street Journal that Slater was rude to after she asked for something to mop up spilled coffee she found on her seat, saying that Slater "rolled his eyes at me and said, 'What?' in a real rude manner." When the passenger pointed out the coffee to Slater, she says he snapped at her: "No! Maybe when we get in the air! I need to take care of myself first, honey!" She said he was referring to the gash on his forehead. "It wasn't normal and he shouldn't have been acting that way," she said. "I felt so uncomfortable on that flight."

I’m guessing he was coming down hard from a long tweekend and was grumpy.
"???WE???"... Ummmhhh... not over here, pal...
Come on.... He's a Steward(ess)! The guy's the Chariman of the "Uniform Redesign Committee" for God's sake!!! Whose GAYDAR wasn't tweaking to full radiate?
Poor Fluffy just had a bad day (male menopause??), and decided to take it out on a "Breeder".
IIRC, the police, who were called by the airlines to arrest him, found him in bed with his lover, when they went to the 'address' he had for that stayover.
How did he get the GASH on his head?
Was that from something coming out of the overhead compartments?
I thought they went to his home.
I think he’s an alcholic, was already drunk and probably bumped into something... not sure it was a passenger’s fault.
I also think it’s amazing that people care more about his homosexuality than the fact he seriously compromised airport security and passenger safety, as he is entrusted with.
But then, I also posted a 9/11 topic and that got only one response...
This topic is approaching 50.
According to the spots running today on WABC 770, yes, he is. I guess he hasn’t had the wonderful experience of running into a gay drama queen on his bad hair day.
Recently, I saw this over worked waiter trying to help a room full of people, it was obvious the restaurant was totally under staff...And this AH with his wife yells out, "hey, can we get some service"?
The waiter looked at this guy with murder in his eyes...My buddy who's built like a large fire hydrant, looks at this little ungrateful freak and says, "This guy is doing the best he can, if you don't like the service, your free to leave"......Man...He didn't expect other customers to stick up for the help, and we never heard another peep out of impatient mouth again... It was classic...We gave the waiter a really good tip...
I wonder if his ex knew he was homosexual when she married him. Strange.
Who's "we"? How many lives did he save for anyone to declare him "a hero"? All he did was shoot off his mouth to a customer that we are now learning wasn't rude at all. This jerk should be fired, prosecuted to the full extent of the law and JetBlue should sue him for the damages he caused for taking one of their planes out of service until this slide is certified.
Bump.
He walked off the job ... I'm pretty sure that means he quit.
Yes it was jokingly. Seriously, most flight attendants I know are too damn tired after a long day and have very little time before they have to turn around and go out in the am.
I was actually pretty shocked at the bigotry at the beginning of the thread.
Sorry about the milehighclub reference. That’s a pretty old website. ;)
Behavior like this is suggestive of a pill addict, that had to get home to his pills as soon as possible.
Patient Zero allegation
A study published in the American Journal of Medicine in 1984 traced many of New York City's early HIV infections to an unnamed infected homosexual male flight attendant. Epidemiologists hypothesized that Dugas had carried the virus out of Africa and introduced it into the Western homosexual community.
Dugas was featured prominently in Randy Shilts's book And the Band Played On, which documented the outbreak of AIDS in the United States. Shilts portrayed Gaëtan Dugas as having almost sociopathic behavior, by allegedly intentionally infecting, or at least recklessly endangering, others with the virus.
Dugas was described as being a charming, handsome sexual athlete, who, according to his own estimation, averaged hundreds of sex partners a year. He claimed to have had over 2,500 sexual partners across North America since becoming sexually active in 1972.
As a flight attendant Dugas was able to travel the globe, at little cost, to such early HIV epicenters as Los Angeles, New York, Paris, London, and San Francisco. Being diagnosed with Kaposi's Sarcoma in June 1980, and after being warned that this could be caused and spread by a sexually transmitted virus, Dugas refused to stop having unprotected sex, claiming that he could do what he wanted with his body. He allegedly informed some of his sex partners, just after having sex, that he had the "gay cancer" and perhaps they would get it too.
Dugas died in Quebec City on March 30, 1984 as a result of kidney failure caused by continual AIDS-related infections
You Sir have made my point.....The boys in back.....for the most part are butt boys....otherwise they wouldn’t be working as FA’s.......now that being said some pretty boys in back work because they find the “pickings” real easy among the female FA’s, which of course used to be known as Stewardesses... They are a minority...to the tune of 1-25,,,
Just another gay drama queen, exactly right. These types have a nervous breadown at the drop of a carryon.
