“Lying to your mother is a sin, not a crime”

It becomes a crime when you want to make “people who lie to their mothers” as a category for civil rights victims.

Does it compound the sin when you carry picket signs that say “stay off my lips”?

How about in kindergarten we start teaching children how to lie to their mothers about the bananas they stole.

How about making it a crime for mothers to punish their children for lies?

It becomes a "crime"? Sorry, you're going to have to do a better job than that. Your post makes absolutely no sense.

The government is in the crime business, not the sin business. You think homosexuality is a sin. That's fine. The 1st Amendment gives you protection to think and say what you wish - just like it gives protection to children to lie to their mothers (so long as they aren't under oath, and their mother is a federal agent) and gives protection to people to assemble with whomever they choose.

It's not the government's prerogative to punish the child for lying to his mother, and it shouldn't be the prerogative of the government to inspect people's bedrooms. Perhaps you think it should be. We differ.

I want to live in a free country - where people are free to choose to either sin or not to sin, and to define or believe what "sin" actually is. "Congress shall make no law..." seems pretty clear to me.

People who wish to force their Biblical or other religious beliefs on others, are just Marxists carrying a bible. No thanks.
