Coulter to Keynote for Homosexualist GOPride

By James Tillman

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 11, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) -- GOProud, which bills itself as the "only national organization representing gay conservatives," has announced that well-known conservative author Ann Coulter is headlining their first annual "Homocon."

The announcement shocked both advocates of traditional family values and homosexualist advocates of "gay rights," who have previously attacked Coulter for her supposedly homophobic language and beliefs.

Christopher Barron, Chairman of the Board of GOProud, said he could think of no "conservative more fun to headline our inaugural party then the self-professed ‘right-wing Judy Garland’--Ann Coulter." Judy Garland is an icon among homosexuals.

“The gay left has done their best to take all the fun out of politics, with their endless list of boycotts and protests," said Barron.  "Homocon is going to be our annual effort to counter the ‘no fun police’ on the left."

The GOProud "party" will be taking place Saturday, September 25, in New York City.  Sponsorships of the event, which include two tickets, are available for $2500, while general admission tickets go on sale August 20th for $250.

Peter La Barbera, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) said that Coulter should reconsider her appearance at the event. "As a fan of Ann Coulter, it pains me to see her cave in to political correctness and lend credibility to the phony homosexual "conservatives" over at GOProud," he stated.

He said that half of GOProud's top 10 federal priorities center on advancing homosexuality. The federal legislative priorities
that GOProud endorses include repealing the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" ban on homosexuals serving in the military, "defending" the
Constitution by "opposing any anti-gay federal marriage amendment," and changing the tax code in a way that "will provide equity for gays and lesbians."

GOProud defiantly returned fire in a press release stating that Peter LaBarbera should "actually read an Ann Coulter Book." "He seems completely clueless about what Ann has actually written and said about gay people and gay conservatives," said Barron.

Yet an examination of Coulter's actions and writings quickly reveal why many homosexualist advocates are wary of her.  Coulter notoriously called presidential candidate John Edwards a "faggot" in 2007; earlier this year, Coulter called Constance McMillen, who wished to attend her school's prom with her girlfriend, an "irritating lesbian."

Furthermore, her 2006 book Godless: The Church of Liberalism, mockingly mentions the belief that homosexuals are born that with same-sex attractions as a "matter of faith" for liberals.  The same book attacks liberals for pretending that AIDS is not principally a homosexual disease, and predicts that "next thing you know, they'll be discovering a right to gay marriage."

Nevertheless, her latest book, Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America, published in 2009, seems to fault liberals for anti-homosexual activity by "outing" gay individuals against their wishes.  "Who is more intolerant of gays in the Republican Party than gays in the Democratic Party?" she asks.

Others see Coulter's appearance as way for homosexualist advocates to shatter the unity of their opposition. A blogger on the homosexualist group blog The Bilerico Project speculated that GOProud was playing an interesting game exposing "rifts in the [conservative] community"  and "exploiting them."

"I used to wonder who--when push came to shove--GOProuders would be more loyal to: the gay community or their gay-hating party. I'm starting to trust they're on the right side of the fight."

GOProud has caused conflict in conservative camps before.  At the 2010 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), CPAC permitted GOProud to attend.  Because of this, Ryan Sorba of California Young Americans for Freedom took his speaking opportunity there "to condemn CPAC for bringing GOPride [sic] to this event."

He explained his reasoning to an increasingly unruly crowd.

"Guess what?" he said. "Civil rights are grounded in natural rights; natural rights are grounded in human nature; human nature is a rational substance in relationship; the intelligible end of the reproductive act is reproduction. Do you understand that?"

Both loud boos and cheers greeted him.

GOProud had not returned LSN's request for comment at press time.

Recently, the ostensibly conservative icon Rush Limbaugh also said he supports homosexual civil unions.

We have much bigger fish to fry than this. The left is trying to divide us over one issue. Sheesh....if you happen to agree with civil unions but carry the conservative line the rest of the way down, you are not “conservative?” Kicked out of the club?

Ann doesn’t report on the BC issue in any meaningful manner and now she supports homo’s.

I haven’t given her any attention since she refused to report honestly over the BC issue.

Trojan horse?

Could be. From the article:

"Others see Coulter's appearance as way for homosexualist advocates to shatter the unity of their opposition. A blogger on the homosexualist group blog The Bilerico Project speculated that GOProud was playing an interesting game exposing "rifts in the [conservative] community" and "exploiting them."

I'm not wondering at all.

Trojan horse indeed. A true conservative does not need separate identification based on race, color, creed or misguided perception of one's 'sexuality'. A 'gay' conservative is an oxymoron, no different than 'black' conservative or 'hispanic' conservative, etc. Conservatism is color, and yes even sexual-proclivity, blind. But the mission of GOProud is distinctly non-conservative.

GOProud supports all the pro-homosexual agenda. They are not conservatives.

I read her and watch her when she is good... which is becoming less and less these days.

I can overlook her dating Libs or even being an escort for fags (fag hag) but this speaking engagement is more troubling. By speaking at this forum she is empowering the homo lobby which already has way too much influence and momentum.

Ann’s mid-life crisis, perhaps? Frankly, I’m losing a lot of respect for her. these people are Homosexual first, and I’ll bet that the majority of “GOP”roud voted for the Marxist. Pretty sickening news, actually. Bob

She is becoming like the WWE... with the “E” standing for entertainment. She is no longer seen by many as a “deep thinker”. She dated bill maher... I quit taking her serious after that.
