Obamas Plan Fifth Vacation Since July

There they go again. For the fifth time since July, the first family has set plans to board Air Force One for a frilly vacation, a 10-day return trip to exclusive Martha's Vineyard where they are expected to stay at the 28-acre oceanfront Blue Heron Farm that rents for up to $50,000 a week.

But first the Obamas will be traveling to the Gulf Coast of Florida for a mini-vacation as a way to encourage other vacationing Americans to head to the beaches that have been shunned by tourists worried about oil-slicked sands due to the Gulf oil spill. They are expected to travel to Florida this weekend, return to Washington for a few days then it's off to the Massachusetts island August 19. [See photos of the Obamas behind the scenes.]

This weekend's jaunt was announced after first lady Michelle Obama said during a recent trip to Panama City Beach, Florida that, "One of the best ways that fellow Americans can help is to come on down here and spend some money," She's expected to be joined by the president and 9-year old Sasha. Malia, 12, is away at camp for the first time at an undisclosed location.

Back in July 2009, the Obamas rented the stunning 29-acre Blue Heron Farm, on Martha's Vineyard, Chilmark, a glamorous spread featuring spectacular views, the Vineyard Gazette reported. Features a Victorian farmhouse, 5-bedroom "guest house," reconstructed Pennsylvania barn and NH shed.... owned by Mississippi timber magnate William Van Devender and wife Mollie.....had $20 million pricetag in 2005.

Prior owners hosted the Clintons in 1998. The Obamas can stroll to a private saltwater pond or take a dip in the Atlantic from a private beach. Other features: a private dock with a Boston Whaler, a catamaran and several kayaks, a pool, and a hot tub overlooking the water w/ "total privacy," a vegetable garden, a miniature boathouse on the water with a loft for sleepovers. Obama was due the last week of August and was expected to pay the rental out of his own pocket. Similar luxury rentals rent between $35,000-50,000 per week.

I really do think they’re doing this to deliberately poke a finger in America’s eye, and they’re doing it because they’re black.

It could also be that there is a sense of entitlement. Something like, "it's our turn". Kind of like a peacock strutting. Hence, all the nonsense with the presidential seal, and the excess in pomp and circumstance.

It is almost reminiscent of those programs that told inner city kids to be proud of themselves. To pump up their self image because there was the constant reminder of failure. That would explain why the administration feels it must respond to any criticism no matter how trivial. It hurts their 'feelings'. They have to 'honor' every group with meaningless announcements while pushing 'economic justice'.

It almost seems to be a perversion of principal based in low self esteem.
