On “America’s Morning News” – a web-based talk show sponsored by Human Events – U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston was drawn into a discussion of Georgia’s Republican runoff for governor.
Would you have preferred that Sarah Palin butt out of it, Kingston was asked? “I wish she will,” Kingston said. But never mind the grammar – it was live radio. He continued:
“Because what’s she’s doing is dividing the Republican party at a time when we don’t need to be divided.
“Because in a case like this, really what people were saying – ‘Well, she’s endorsing Karen Handel because she’s a woman.’ [Palin] got up on stage on Monday and said, ‘I’m not doing it because she’s a woman – although she is a sister.’ You know — wink, wink.
“And I understand that. But what it does is, it makes Republicans say, well, maybe we do need to rethink Karen Han – I mean, Sarah Palin, as somebody who does shoot from the hip a little bit too much. Because I think Karen Handel is a very decent candidate, but she’s clearly the more moderate person in the race….”

I think I have it right. She pisses off more RINOs and lefties than she endorses.
I find it amusing that many of the anti-Palin types will in one breath cry, “We must stick together, so what if our “R” candidate is not 100% conservative, we must vote the “R” no matter what....” Then on the other side dis Mrs. Palin because she supported someone they call a RINO. Ironic, ain’t it?

Some of the "dividers" here are anti-Republican Trojan horses masquerading as conservatives. Some get zotted immediately, some are allowed to post for years. I don't know why.
Agree. Jack is my Congressman and a fine conservative. He has my vote.
Sarah should have stayed on the other side of the Savannah River over in SC. Georgians don’t like outsiders sticking their nose in our business!
What exactly are the qualifications, the licensure, the chops for making endorsements in state/local/national political races?
I’ve heard a conservative here in Maryland complain about Sarah’s endorsement of Brian Murphy over Bob Erlich. I had to really work hard to avoid laughing. Mr. Conservative sees Bob Erlich as our only hope to defeat Martin O’Malley. I agree. Sarah consistently endorses either (1) political allies (John McCain), idiological allies (Nikki Haley), or hybrids (Carly Fiorina). When she has no relationship with or does not see a relationship with a candidate it will not happen. She won’t endorse the good old boy just because as some of our field has done and continues to do. That all says that Sarah is not our totally pure conservative but has an element of pragmatism. That also says that she remains my candidate for the GOP nomination in 2012.
Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid have been so incredibly wrong that they must be stopped by our best. I see Sarah as one of our best. She is the only national candidate from 2008 to have cut a budget, routed out corruption, and done both with resistance from (and victims in) her own party. Others have made claims - she has brought it home.
If this is the case, why did they go for Deal, endorsed by the outsider Mike Huckabee?
Palin has done major damage to the conservative effort in taking over the GOP from the McCain progressives. She has totally screwed up her political career within the conservative movement and the progressive Republicans hated her from the beginning. Oh well. Let her go the way of her wise and complicated family. Let’s focus our energies on a conservative with a brain.

C.R.E.W., the Soros-funded front attack group, told us who the left fears most when it published its smear of Nathan Deal -- a formidable, 100% Conservative candidate. What grieves many Georgia Republicans is that Karen Handel used the C.R.E.W. report to smear Nathan Deal, and that Sarah Palin aided the smear by swooping into Georgia to support the single least conservative of seven GOP hopefuls. And not only did Palin endorse the least conservative candidate, but the only GOP candidate who failed to gain the endorsement of Georgia Right to Life or the National Rifle Association. It was simply inexplicable.
I’m the conservative base, and lovin’ it.
All I can say is, it’s time people woke up to the damage Palin is doing. I just hope it’s not too late. Pretty much most of her endorsed candidates lost yesterday, so that is a good sign.
Huck, Newt, and Romney became involved after Sarah’s facebook endorsement. They all should have stayed out of primary even though Newt is from Georgia.
I personally believe Huck’s endorsement actually helped Deal in the rural areas. A preacher’s word goes a long way in the Bible Belt.

I actually talked with her about that. I strongly disagree with her, but I definitely saw her point. And I also think that if I were in her shoes I would do the same thing she’s doing.
Yes, Sarah doesn’t have a job right now because she quit her job, the one she was elected and entrusted to do. But then, quitting one’s job, especially when the going gets tough, seems to be a trend.
Sarah Palin endorsed Karen Handel before the July 20 Primary, propelling Handel into a runoff with Nathan Deal. Newt Gingrich is a Georgian, and backed Deal. Huckabee, of whom I am no fan, did not endorse Deal until just before the August 10 runoff, in defense of the smears from C.R.E.W. and Karen Handel.

Not dividing the party, but enlivening the party by giving the RINOs something to run from.

ACU has no authority to define who is conservative.
They are basically a RINO club - the Dole wing of the party.
Lots of their 90%+ rated people are pure RINO.
