If a Republican president were demonizing the state of Arizona as the Obama administration has been, then the "mainstream" media would surely be wondering: Has the president helped create a climate of hatred, fear and anger that might endanger people?
Such as, oh, inspiring death threats against Arizona law enforcement officers?
They won't begin to suggest that, of course -- not with a Democrat in the Oval Office, especially one that the evidence shows the media actively tried to get elected. But no doubt emboldened by the administration's attacks on our own state of Arizona, a Mexican drug cartel has reportedly put a $1 million bounty on the head of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Arpaio, the renowned toughest sheriff in the nation, regularly gets threats -- but not this serious and credible.
"With this heightened awareness of his role in the immigration issue, we've got to take this one a little bit more seriously -- with a million-dollar contract out on him," a sheriff's spokeswoman said.
Arpaio took that high-profile role on himself, certainly. But instead of having his back, the president has stabbed him in it, criticizing every supporter of law and order in Arizona. Mr. Obama has even gone out of his way to do it -- suggesting Hispanics taking their children for ice cream might be unfairly targeted for arrest. He knows that's not true.
In not only failing to stand up for law enforcement, but actively working against it, Mr. Obama and his cohorts have isolated and denigrated the very people doing his job of defending our country.
When was the last time a president of the United States was so openly hostile to American interests?
The answer: It's unprecedented.
I have another idea or two, but I can’t post either of them.
As I’ve said before, the cartels may want to really, really,
think this one over. If something happens to Sheriff Joe, a mexican won’t be worth 2 cents in Arizona.
Article I, Section10, Clause 3 states: "No state shall, without the consent of Congress, lay any duty of tonnage, keep troops or ships of war in time of peace, enter into any agreement or compact with another state, or with a foreign power, or engage in war, unless actually, invaded, or in such imminent danger as will not admit of delay."
Looks like it is time for AZ (and TX?) to raise actual armies. And use them!
But we can post that it be suggested we keep Sheriff Joe and the few other like him, in our prayers.
Yes, dear you. Sheriff Joe is in my prayers, right along with the SCOTUS justices on our side, Bibi, Israel, Pope XVI and a host of other good people, FReepers, family, friends and our Republic of course.
Reminiscent of the politics surrounding the War of Northern Aggression.
Time for some “Search and Destroy” in that area...
They really, really, don’t want that. We STILL remember the Alamo.
Nor a 'Rat politician or bureaucrat, would be my guess...
If Obama doesn't publicly denounce this plan and threaten to use the full force of the United States in bringing to justice the perpetrators, then as far as I'm concerned he will be complicit in anything that happens to the Sheriff.

Damn good find, piytar!
I've been thinking for months now, that it's far past time for the border states to tell Washington to "suck it", and raise their own armies to defend the southern border, and their individual sovereignty and integrity.
Arizona has taken the first step toward this very logical end by passing SB 1070. Next step - border states withhold whatever tax monies from the feds, as are required to actually defend the border, build the fence, and deport the illegal populations.
Reminds me of the movie “High Noon”. However there are plenty of people on Joe’s side.
I don't know...first they'll say that the culprit was someone unhappy about not having health care...
Obama will put a member of LaRaza in his cabinet to oversee outreach to undocumented Democrats to make sure they know their rights.
Next they'll say, when confronted with the facts, that anti-Mexican hate speech will be prosecuted.
Then they'll build a temple honoring Mexican drug lords at the site where Sheriff Joe murdered to show how tolerant...how non-racist we are.
I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.
Reconquista is well underway. The history of North America was written with a large Spanish pen, among many others.
We have since become a sovereign nation.
Time to awaken to that fact before the bulwarks are overrun.
You’re absolutely right!!! Either Sheriff Joe or his lawyers should immediately demand that both Obama and the Mexican president publicly denounce any plan of this sort!
If the Mexican drug cartel does manage to kill the sheriff, I expect the media's take on it to be that he was a racist and deserved his fate. Whatever Obama might say publicly, he'd probably think the killing useful if it deters others from taking an outspoken position like Sheriff Arpaio has.
I have to agree. It will become "open season". They do not realize the national support this sheriff has...
