Al Franken's Gaffes: The former TV comedian isn't ready for prime time in the Senate.

Former TV comedian Al Franken continues to demonstrate why he's not ready for prime time in the Senate. Last week, GOP Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was giving a serious speech on the nomination of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court. He noticed Senator Franken, who was in the presiding officer's chair in front of him, gesticulating and making faces at him as he criticized Ms. Kagan. "Senate aides said they were shocked that Franken would flout the decorum of the chamber during such a solemn occasion," reported The Hill newspaper.

After he had finished, Mr. McConnell made clear he wasn't amused by walking up to the dais and telling Mr. Franken: "This is not 'Saturday Night Live,' Al." Afterward, a chastened Senator Franken walked to Mr. McConnell's office to apologize. Not finding him, he wrote a note instead.

The McConnell incident is not the only one Senator Franken might regret. Last week, as the Senate's most conspicuous liberal, he certainly did Democratic Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin no favors while campaigning for her in conservative South Dakota. "She has voted differently than I voted on a couple of things," Mr. Franken told an audience in Rapid City. "But we need to be able to have somebody here in South Dakota who's going to vote for Speaker Pelosi, not for Speaker Boehner."

Ms. Herseth Sandlin must have winced. Nancy Pelosi is decidedly unpopular in South Dakota,

Franken stole the election. That has been proven. It was FRAUD that got him in there. Franken is a disgrace.

Even Democrat Senators can't stomach this buffoon.

Senate Democrats were thrilled when Mr. Franken's photo-finish victory finally gave them a 60-vote supermajority in the Senate for a few months last year. But his boorish and bizarre behavior has soured many of his colleagues and I'm reliably told that some Senate Democrats wish Mr. Franken were indeed running for reelection this year -- as the fastest way for him to exit the Senate.

There was a photo circulating recently of Franken sleeping during a hearing. He’s an emabassment to his species, whatever species he belongs to.

Franken has a maturity deficit that trumps every other aspect of his character.

I really haven’t followed him much, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t just bored and out of place. Perhaps he won’t try to run again.

I emphatically agree and I might add, that the same applies to those useful idiots who voted for Obama.

That doesn’t surprise me...he was never even ready for prime
time in the comedy field! He was neither funny then nor is he capable of
being taken seriously now! Being the Senator SELECT from MN,he
is an embarrassment to the people there. He’s an embarrassment
to all Americans!

Most comedians are weird ducks, but some are weirder than others.

Stuart Smalley is in Jonathan Winters' territory.

Yeah, he stole the election but thousands of idiots voted for him to get him to the point where he could steal the election. Elections have consequences. It shouldn’t have been that close.

You jest? Surely that miraculous box of ballots that showed up in that church in Minneapolis was manna from heaven!

Caligula had a horse in the Senate, we have Al Franken.

With all due respect, the horse was smarter.

He was probably also better looking.

Al Franken, like Barack Obama, is an empty suit. They just each hang on different racks.
