Once again we see Islam being brought into the workplace. Today we learn that Minnesota Vikings safety Husain Abdullah, has decided that fasting and playing at a lower level, is more important than giving it his all for the team.
Even while sprinting in the heat and humidity during drills, sometimes in full pads, Abdullah is adamant about his faith. He will not allow himself so much as a cup of water until the sun sets and before it rises.
Im putting nothing before God, nothing before my religion, Abdullah said. This is something I choose to do, not something I have to do. So Im always going to fast.
Or did I just invite the PC police?

Is the coach looking for a replacement?
War between two false religions...sports and Islam.
May the best Idol ... nah, let ‘em both lose.

The Vikings should take out life insurance on him.
Shawn Green sat out of Blue Jay’s line-up for Yom Kippur. You guys feel the same way about that?
Fire the Idiot. I would damn sure get rid on someone Quick who craps on their job.
Maybe the Vikings, like NASA, should change their “mission” to “reaching out to Islam”.
Of course.
Hakeen Olajuwon won two NBA Championships and a Gold Medal on the USA Olympic Basketball Team while strictly following Islam.
Eric Liddell and Sandy Koufax. I have no problem with someone placing their faith above an athletic competition. But they need to deal with the consequences of their actions.
I can’t fault the guy for sticking to his beliefs, even if it means his career suffers.
So when he gets heat stroke, will he sue? OF COURSE!
Good to know you’re OK with me firing a guy who refuses to work on Sundays.
A devout Muslim just can’t be an NFL player, not if he puts his religion ahead of his job in this manner. He won’t be able to go all out in practice and exhibition games during the summer heat if he won’t drink water. They should just cut him from the team. There are plenty of eager talented replacements. Let him go score points for Allah somewhere else.

That is funny and true.
Ramadan ends the day of their first game. Where were these people last year when Ramadan actually intersected a few games.
Intresting point. I know there are born-again Christians in the NFL, and Sunday is ANYTHING BUT a day of rest for them. But if ol’ Hajii, or whoever he is, wants to have multiple workouts in the summer’s heat without a cup of water, more power to him.
