John Hinkley, Jr — tried to kill Reagan, avowed communist

Samuel Byck (attempted assasin of Nixon who tried to fly a plane into the white house and was gunned down -— how soon people forget)

Leon Czolgosz (killed President McKinley — communist with anarchist leanings)

Any number of arab communist/socialist assasins.
