Obama has lost eligibility issue
WND -- World Net Daily ^ | August 10, 2010 | Joseph Farah

Posted on 08/09/2010 11:54:26 PM PDT by stevenl77

Just as Richard Nixon lost the battle of Watergate because of cover-up and stonewalling, Barack Obama has lost the battle over his constitutional eligibility for the same sins.

With the latest CNN poll showing only 42 percent of Americans definitively persuaded that he was born in the U.S., those who claimed this wasn't a "winning issue" have been proven wrong.

Not only is it a winning issue, it is the only issue that can effectively undo the nightmare of the Obama era in one fell swoop.

There would be no need for repealing Obamacare if it turns out his presidency was a sham from the beginning.

There would be no need to wait until Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan retire or die to see them replaced on the Supreme Court if it turns out his presidency was a sham from the beginning.

There would be no need to wring our hands in hopes that future congresses and future presidents might roll back all of the damage Obama has inflicted on America if it turns out his presidency was sham from the beginning.

There would be no need to wait until 2011 in hopes that a new Republican majority might impeach Obama if it turns out his presidency was a sham from the beginning.

There would be no need to wait until 2012 for another chance to replace Obama if it turns out his presidency was a sham from the beginning.

That's why this issue is so important.

My first post was sarcasm. I guess it is a little early for sarcasm for both of us.

Hypothetical children? No they are very real children and as far as I know they are considered US citizens whether they were born under a bush in south Texas or a hospital in Hawaii.

Whether they should be considered US citizens or not? Probably not, look at the mess that has gotten us into..

I agree, they shouldn't be considered citizens. IMO it's all a misapplication of the 14th Amendment. That amendment was meant to give citizen status to slaves who were living at the time of ratification.
Applying it to today's world just seems to be a misrepresentation of the intent of those who passed it into law.

Chester Aurthur claimed (or allowed the claim to be made) that hid Dad was a US citizen when Chester was born. See http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2144292/posts

If Chester’s dad was not a US Citizen at that time — which itself is not a absolutely known fact — then that fact wasn’t known except to few.

A successful fraud sets no precedent.

I agree. Chester was a molester of the office of POTUS.

In the world of politics, Soebarkah is slowly being delegitimized by this issue. I spoke to family members yesterday and reported to them that, per his mothers passport, our president was raised as an Indonesian citizen with the name of Soebarkah.

The look of disgust was universal. Fence sitters, People who were inclined to like him, are now infuriated with his deviousness. Then add his Jet Setting Beast to the picture and it gets even worse. I'm seeing a meltdown with this issue only feeding it.

When Lakin goes to prison, this will get red hot.

Keyes does not like Obama, does not believe he is eligible (or qualified) to hold the position of POTUS and has gone so far as filing lawsuits to keep Obama out of office or have him removed. Keyes is and has been absolutely correct about Obama - he is destroying this nation.

I was discussing the rumor, that still persists, that Obama claimed to have been born in Mombassa or Kenya, depending on who tells the rumor, during a debate with Keyes. That never happened.

“Am I natural born?”

If you ain’t runnin for president, what difference does it make? Also, sounds like you’re not familiar where the term “natural born citizen” comes from—the Constitution’s eligibility requirements to run for president.

Of course, if it were true, I'd be excluded under Article II myself, and all the other sons of war brides from WW2 who were naturalized or who, like my mother, were still subjects of His Majesty George VI or Her Majesty Elizabeth II when their American children were born.

Fortunately for you (and President Obama) this birther definition that requires both parents to be U.S. citizens is a load of bunk.

It may not be a “magic bullet” but is a “bomb” that may well destory the Dems. And some Pubbies with them.

Which explains the intensity of the opposition to the eligibility issue. And why I believe Obama would be removed from office for health reasons precisely so his eligibility would become a moot point. If it happens it will likely happen quickly.

There has been a number of articles stating that Chester Arthur BURIED his birth records that would have PROVED that his father did not receive his citizenship until after his birth. Whether true or not , unproven at this time, due to lack of record. The real question is why would he bury his records if NATURAL BORN citizenship did not require both parents to be U.S. citizens? The answer is simple , for over 200 years it has been clear that Natural Born means that both parents were U.S. citizens. In the case of Minor vs. happensett, the court defined Natural born as children whom parents were U.S. citizens.

The Chinese bring special planeloads of pregnant women here so that they can give birth in the US and have their children be American citizens. Even the cost of the doctor and the hospitalization is built into the price of the trip.

<>I wish they would stop emphasizing the “natural born citizen” argument with respect to his father’s lack of U.S. citizenship.<>

Why??? Words and phrases have definitions and it is part of the traditional historical definition. It’s the only definition for the phrase that there is in history.

And I prefer the definition of “natural born citizen” that every elected President has met [except one], and that our historians, statesmen, founders, Supreme Court Justices have affirmed in their writings because there is no other definition in history. Even the Senators who authored McCain’s SR511 acknowledged the traditional historical definition of both parents:

http://www.thepostemail.com/2009/10/18/4-supreme-court-cases-define-natural-born-citizen/

http://www.thepostemail.com/2010/04/02/founder-and-historian-david-ramsay-defines-natural-born-citizen-in-1789/

http://www.thepostemail.com/2010/04/10/lifelong-democrat-breckinridge-long-natural-born-citizen-means-born-on-the-soil-to-a-father-who-is-a-citizen/

http://theobamafile.com/ObamaNaturalBorn.htm#LeahyResolution

The traditional historical definition has been formalized — by history. As we have seen, any court can alter precedent and reverse and change the ruling of any previous court. But no court can change history as it has already been written, no matter how hard they might try or how much they might believe that they are gods on this earth.

If the Supreme Court ever did formally define the term in a binding fashion in an opinion, given presidential history, there’s no way they would interpret it as meaning both parents had to be citizens at the time of a presidential nominee’s birth.

So are you saying that the exception makes the rule??? If someone breaks the law and gets away with it, then is breaking the law the new law??? Since when do the lawless get to redefine the law by their own lawlessness???

Id like to see his presidential pension and his US Senate pension stripped if he failed to show actual proof he was born here.

And 10-15 years Federal incarceration.

You people are all missing the point here - the sad fact is that even if all Americans agree that Obama is ineligible to be president, he will not be ejected from office. HE’S A DEMOCRAT!!! Laws don’t apply to him! The absolute most that could happen is that he wouldn’t be allowed to run for a second term.

Now here’s what I think might happen - the dems know that there’s no way America is going to vote for this amateur hour at the white house to continue - so I think they’re gonna dump Obama in favor of Hillary - either in the primaries or (to save their hold over the african-americans) by playing the ineligible card.

10-15 years for treason, electoral fraud, perjury, conspiracy, corruption, racketeering, and all of the other crimes that would be involved in this and the cover up seems to be getting off fairly light.

Bilbray said it doesn’t matter that Obama’s father, governed by his Kenyan nationality, was a British subject when Obama was born.

*** But he also explained parents can denounce a U.S. citizenship for a child, and that’s why Obama critics should be hunting not for any birth documentation but the passports on which Obama traveled earlier in his life. ***

Personally, Bilbray said he believes Obama was born in Hawaii, “but I don’t know what his status is.”

“He’s a U.S. citizen until proven otherwise,” he said.

“I think the president is enjoying this exercise,” he told WND.

“I think he doesn’t want to clarify it.

I think he’s enjoying it.

“It’s an exercise that he uses to try to discredit his opponents.

(I agree. And this would make Obama a very sick person. i.e., Obama enjoys “birthers” being labeled crazy and racists.)

A lot of this is a distraction.

This citizenship issue is used as a way of distracting from what he’s doing politically,” he said.

He called Obama the “most extreme left-wing president ever.”

***

And also the most divisive president ever.

I was referring to culture, to state of mind. If they want to be what we are, we’ve won. Although my point really wasn’t about China. My point was about saturation point.

If Obama has been in office for more than 18 months and more people than ever are concerned about his eligibility, we are approaching the saturation point and he will be unable to recover from that, regardless of what the media tries to spin.

It has almost reached the point where there will be nothing that he can do to try to fix his reputation, he has already done so much damage to it himself that there is virtually no way he can recover. How many people will believe that whatever he presents at this point is a lie?

He will in effect fall on his own sword. His group of followers has fostered distrust in the government for so long that even his own people do not believe half of what he says. He is now doing our work for us. It is beautiful to behold.

He dug a pit for his enemies and he has fallen into it himself.

Tell your black friends that Obama is reinforcing negative stereotypes of Blacks (lazy - coming into Oval office whenever he pleases and "vacationing" and golfing all the time, dumb - has to have teleprompters wherever he goes and still gaffes, wasteful - all the parties, vacations, spending, etc). I feel sorry for all the good people who have worked so hard to overcome all these stereotypes only to have this clown set them back 50 years.

Honest, hard working blacks need to abandon the slug and basically vocally and openly throw him under the bus and say he doesn't represent them.
