A JetBlue flight attendant blew his top on an incoming flight at Kennedy Airport on Monday, dropped the F-bomb over the intercom and bolted down an emergency slide.

Just before his dramatic resignation, Slater had argued with a passenger who was trying to retrieve a bag from an overhead compartment before the plane was stopped.
After 28 years of dealing with the public he just couldnt take it anymore.
Me too. I don't think flight attendants get nearly the respect they deserve. They work very hard, at long and odd hours, on effing airplanes packed with stressed-out people. They're trained to handle all kinds of dangerous events, not least of which is saving your life.
I hope Jet Blue gives him some time off and then let's him come back to work.
You exaggerate - I believe the number is 99.47%.
He had an argument with a passenger who wanted to get his bag from the overhead before the plane had stopped. The guy called him a m*f*er, so he said, “f*you” over the intercom, quit his job, activated the emergency slide, and left the airport. He was arrested later at his home.
Every man has got a breaking point. You and I have. Steven Slater has reached his. And very obviously, he has gone insane.
If I was running Jet Blue I would promote him to the executive office. The guy is priceless. It’s not uncommon to see adults on airplanes acting like entitled brats. The thing about this guy is the style in which he quit - the intercom rant, the inflatable ramp exit. Well done!
Supposedly his mom is dying with cancer.
I have seen the garbage Jet Blue gets on their NYC flights. Nasty nasty people comprise at least 60% of the flight. Loads of obama voters.
He had a jerk going through the overhead compartment at landing.
Yeah most are queer but the jobs suck big time. I recall a little old lady stewardess who was German-American on Northwestern. I helped her print out her tickets for flying back or help her looking for a flight. The poor thing was worried about a merger. Very nice little lady. I was also on a shuttle to a hotel with a crew. The girl stew was complaining about a nasty passenger.
I feel bad for the stews and pilots. No fun. Tons of responsibility and passengers are all pissed off because Islam requires us to be searched by the TSA gestapo.
But repacking and maint will keep more illegals working.
The attendant should have told the passenger that the marshals would be waiting at the gate to arrest the man for not listening to his warning and then acted upon doing just that.
I’ve flown with some of the most rude ignorant people who ever boarded a plane. They feel they can start using their phones, stand up while the plane is still taxiing and will do as they wish regardless of what effect it might have on the safety of the rest of the travelers.
I once had a woman start using her blackberry on the plain when we were coming in for a landing. I told her to shut it off and asked her “do you know why the federal laws say you can’t use it while the plane is in motion?” to which she said “no, why?”. I told her it was to prevent inteferrence with the navigation and radio equipment used by the flight crew, and that her rush to use her phone could result in a crash of the plain (probably not but worse case could drive my point through her thick skull). She looked at me like she had just seen something horrifying. Then she said something along the lines of “well they should say that then”. She is one of the cattle that flies and ignores the rules because they get in the way of her desires.
They should tell people that they either abide by the rules or they get banned from air travel for life.
LOL. I used to do some work for commuter rail lines and stuff like this would happen from time to time. Every once in a while, conductors—some of whom got loaded drinking on the job—would use the intercoms for drunken, profanity-laced rants. There was even a case where one guy got so loaded he stripped down and ran through the train. And, of course, the reason we learned about it was because the conductor was arguing that he shouldn’t be fired for it.
Ladies and gentlemen here on FR - if you saw most of the s**t getting on the NYC runs on Jet Blue - I bet most of us would not last a day. 28 years. Poor guy.
I have been in the concourse with Jet Blue waiting for another airline. Miserable people. I have flown JB to Charlotte and it was great.
Nasty people - loads of libs and Obama voters - it is all about them.
Just getting to the gate is such a dark comedy of human indignities that I also have to applaud the guy's exit style.
“Screw you guys, I’m going home!”
Is that our hero? I’d like to bake him a cake.
Nope.
About three years ago I needed a mechanic for my 200 Yamaha on my flats boat. A friend recommended a guy that lives near Crescent Beach, FL & has a backyard shop. He worked on it (weekend) & fixed it quick. Turns out he's an attendant for Delta, works only Europe trips from Atlanta, commutes for one trip about every 10 days.
He's about 45, married, three kids & several dogs. Treats the flying like a second job.
My favorite stewardess.
Yes, photo above is off his myspace page.
yep..seeing that picture says it all...he’s a pole smoker
“I told her it was to prevent inteferrence with the navigation and radio equipment used by the flight crew, and that her rush to use her phone could result in a crash of the plain “
Well, no, it won’t crash the “plain”. In fact, the FAA has not ruled out cell phone use. The FCC did and it had nothing to do with aircraft avionics.
