It began with one Sheriff speaking with other Sheriffs about their oaths to uphold the constitution. A new movement is growing in this country in support of limited government, constitutional principles, states rights and a stronger role for sheriffs to play against federal abuse of power. In this 3-part video interview with Tony DeMeo, Sheriff of Nye County, Nevada, he explains that he is a Constitutional Sheriff and that authority for public office holders is derived from the people:
SNIP
In his own words Sheriff Tony DeMeo describes an incident where federal agents of the BLM threaten him with arrest while the Sheriff issues his own threats of an armed response if illegal seizures of private property in his county continue. Imagine if BLM authorities went ahead with their normal operations of seizing cattle found on public property in direct opposition to Sheriff Tony DeMeo warnings? We would witness a standoff with dire consequences.

Interesting. I read a book that was a profile of congress in the year 1859. It got ugly. I figure if I hear ot fist fight in congress, it might be the harbinger as it was in 1859.
Well if I am mental let the cure be in a return of states rights. Secessionist thoughts are pernicious it's true. It short circuits the whole thing; Federal tyranny, gets right to the point. Maybe being secesh deserves a DSM classification. LOL!
YES! Thats my Sheriff! Tony is a great guy.
OCD?
Sheriff DeMeo BUMP.
We need a lot more state and local officials who will stand up to the federales, who have perverted the constitution for decades.
It has to be stopped soon or it will forever be too late.
From your lips to God's ear.
I'll pray for your cure. :)
I agree, at this point in time public sentiment is on our side, as are the sheriffs. One or two hard pushbacks by a couple sheriffs and the Feds will fold like a cheap suit.
You’re partly right—the federal government is largely run by cowards. But they’re tenacious cowards.
And there are plenty of liberal sheriffs out there who are not as clear headed as Tony DeMeo.
Wedon’t need all the sheriffs, we don’t even need a majority.
Just a good handfull.
“Rather than chest-thumping about civil war, this is what we should be encouraging—massive and widespread nonviolent noncompliance among state and local authorities, resisting federal intrusion into state and private domains.”
I agree wholeheartedly.
The leftist subversives tearing down this country want nothing more than civil unrest and chaos.
Advice to conservatives and to Americans in general: don’t be suckered into the marxists’ scheme.
Wrong. There’s a civil war going on right now. Domestic terrorists are attacking the US Constitution and our democratic-republican form of government. Its just that some of us don’t know it, and others are passively rolling over and letting it happen without putting up the necessary resistance.

Courts? Ballot box?
Ask Senator Norm Coleman how well those are working these days...
You are fooling yourself...
Append your last sentence with a “yet”...
LOL, not at your point... at being forced to smoke a pack. My Mom did that to me and I was 35 before I quit.
Yep, Hussein is definately a uniter of Conservatives and patriots.
So are you advocating violent overthrow of the government in violation of Free Republic terms of use?
I doubt Norm Coleman would advocate “Civil War” or the violent overthrow of the government. Are you?
You just keep voting (R) and see what happens.
Are you the hall monitor of Freerepublic now?
As you know, and everyone on FR knows I post with my real name. Having said that, as I posted early, we do not need to advocate civil war, secession, or the violent overthrow of the U.S. government. Most here who post have never had to fire a weapon in anger, or dodge bullets or bombs. Not fun stuff, trust me.
Methinks we can all work this out at the ballot box. If not, and the judges decide against the will of the people (Kelo, prop 187, etc.), then many (it only takes 33%), will decide the cartridge box may be the only means of restoring a constitutional republic. I hope that it doesn't get to that point.
Like I said, I hope you are correct. If not, the coming maelstrom will make our first "civil war" look like a walk in the park on a warm spring day.
