No one wants to go to Charlie Rangel’s birthday party

There won't be very many people on hand to help longtime Rep. Charlie Rangel blow out his 80 birthday candles this year.
Lawmakers, friends and politicians are bailing on next week's birthday party for the Democrat, who was recently charged with 13 ethics violations. The party typically draws huge crowds, but apparently some folks want to keep their distance this year.
The New York Times reports on the myriad excuses:
[New York City] Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said he did not know if the party was still on when asked recently if he would attend. "I don't know what the facts are," Mr. Bloomberg said. "I was planning to go, but...."

A defiant Rep. Charlie Rangel said yesterday his birthday-party fund-raiser at The Plaza next week is still on -- despite some nervous politicians who have backed out of the bash in the wake of his ethics woes.
"It's not a birthday for them, it's a birthday party for me!" Rangel exclaimed after delivering a fiery speech defending his actions at a Columbia University business event sponsored by the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce.
Rangel also got a boost from Mayor Bloomberg, who aides said will attend the beleaguered congressman's 80th-birthday celebration Wednesday.

All the black Dems getting indicted are getting pushed out by Obama, who wants a new generation of radical Marxists to replace the old fools. 15-20 years ago, NOTHING like this would’ve happened.
He should open the doors to all of his “constituents” thanking them for all their past support.

The loyalty to Rangel by his contituents in Harlem is Obama’s target IMO. Rangel has Harlem set up as Rangel territory, and Obama amongst others wants that loyalty they can’t get as long as Rangel is there.
I think that’s why Obama has a bus all warmed up and ready to throw Rangel under. He wants Harlem.
That’s how I read the situation.

If I recall correctly Rangel backed Hillary for Prez. Zero will put Rangel under the bus in a heartbeat.
