Republican Senator: Jesus’s ‘Golden Rule’ Inspired His Vote For Pro-Abortion Kagan (Graham)

(CNSNews.com) - Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said that Jesus’s Golden Rule inspired him to vote to confirm Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court and suggested it would be a good thing for his Senate colleagues to also ponder Jesus’s words as they prepared to vote on Kagan.

“It is divine in its orientation, and it is probably something that would serve us all well if we thought about it at moments such as this,” Sen. Graham said on the Senate floor, as he pointed his colleagues to the Golden Rule and counseled them to look to the wisdom of “somebody far wiser than I am” as they cast their votes on Kagan.

As an associate counsel in the Clinton White House, Kagan was an architect of the legal and political strategy that President Bill Clinton used in vetoing the ban on partial-birth abortion. Her nomination by President Barack Obama in May was instantly endorsed by Planned Parenthood, one of the nation’s leading advocates of legalized abortion.

In casting his vote for Kagan, Sen. Graham said he expected her to follow a voting pattern “similar” to Justice John Paul Stevens whom she will replace. In his more than three decades on the court, Justice Stevens persistently backed the position that there is a constitutional right to abortion.

“But at the end of the day, those of us in the Senate have to understand that every branch of government includes human beings and there is a rule that stood the test of time,” said Sen. Graham in an August 3 Senate floor speech. “I didn't make this one up. It was somebody far wiser than I am, somebody far more gifted than I ever hope to be, somebody I put a lot of trust in.

“It is called the Golden Rule,” said Graham. “‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ That is probably one of the most powerful statements ever made. It is divine in its orientation, and it is probably something that would serve us all well if we thought about it at moments such as this. "

Graham also said Kagan “meets the test” the Framers envisioned for a Supreme Court Justice.

“I am going to vote for Elena Kagan because I believe constitutionally she meets the test the Framers envisioned for someone to serve on the Court,” said Graham. “I don't think the Framers ever envisioned Lindsey Graham from South Carolina voting no because President Obama picked someone who is clearly different than I would have chosen.”

Sen. Graham was one of only five Republicans to vote to confirm Kagan to the Supreme Court. The other four were Senators Susan Collins of Maine, Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, Richard Lugar of Indiana, and Olympia Snowe of Maine. The Senate confirmed Kagan, 63-37, on Thursday, Aug. 5. Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska was the only Democrat who voted against the confirmation of Kagan.

The Golden Rule is found in the Gospels of Mark and Luke. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus says during the Sermon on the Mount: “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

Far better than the simplistic application Graham makes for the Golden Rule, are these words of Antonio Porchia:
“Treat me as you should treat me, not as I should be treated”.
Using those guidelines, L’il Ellie Kagan wouldn’t have been confirmed.

These idiots think of themselves as our LEADERS when they’re only supposed to be our REPRESENTATIVES.

And since they’re not listening to us anymore, they are neither.

Time to throw them out. Every last one of them. OUT!!

Do unto others ...

So Lindsay voted for Kagan so he wouldn’t hurt her feelings?

A Supreme Court Appointment to raise her self esteem?

... wordless ...

Yeah. Easy for you to say. You're already born.

Hopefully Jesus will be telling the voters in the South Carolina primary in 2014 to throw you of office like the moneychangers at the temple.

Lindsay, you are not alone in such thinking. In fact, have you considered taking some vacation time aboard the Mother ship? You really need to consider taking the time. Believe me. Others have taken the time for the sake of the children.

Ding! Ding! The Mother ship is boarding!

I wouldn't want to be brutally dismembered while still alive, therefore I'd vote against her.
Nothing sickens me more than a corrupt politician preaching the Bible, especially a homosexual one.

Using the golden rule logic of Graham would mean that he wants Kagan aborted!

Do onto others (the unborn) as you would have them do onto you (Kagan).

How many ways can one say that the Republican voters of SC are as nutty as their senior senator?

And another thing. Democraps and their Republicrat allies like this pansy Graham continue to utter stupidity and vote for enslavement of Americans.

Consider this utterance by the moronic Nutsy Pelousy:

“They ask me all the time, ‘What is your favorite this? What is your favorite that? What is your favorite that?’ And one time, ‘What is your favorite word?’ And I said, ‘My favorite word? That is really easy. My favorite word is the Word, is the Word. And that is everything. It says it all for us. And you know the biblical reference, you know the Gospel reference of the Word.”

“And that Word,” Pelosi said, “is, we have to give voice to what that means in terms of public policy that would be in keeping with the values of the Word. The Word. Isn’t it a beautiful word when you think of it? It just covers everything. The Word.

“Fill it in with anything you want. But, of course, we know it means: ‘The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.’ And that’s the great mystery of our faith. He will come again. He will come again. So, we have to make sure we’re prepared to answer in this life, or otherwise, as to how we have measured up.”

What ‘inspired’ Pansy’s vote for Kagan was the little reminder of what the dems would release to the public should Pansy not do as he is told by them. Pansy Graham is illustrative of why the secret government agencies do not want sexual degenerates in their ranks ... they have degenerate minds and can be blackmailed so easily!

The father of lies, a murderer fromt he start is the subtle director of Elena Kagan’s mind. That Pansy Graham would then defend voting for this she-demon by citing the Golden Rule says even more about the degenerate Graham than it does about Kagan! ... And that is why America is now the ‘village of the damned’. We deserve the judgment just now beginning to unfold here. We have tolerated these demon spawn for too long, and allowed them to lie to protect their demonic slaughter rights of the alive unborn innocents.
