Let's just stop buying stuff from NY and visiting NYC.

Rush said yesterday the ground breaking for this mosque is 9/11/2011.

... it makes us seem angry, stupid, non-serious people.

Ding, ding, ding -- we have a winner.

After 9-11, my family and I began taking vacations to NYC. We love the city. We’ve been there so often now that we really know the city very well. We are boycotting because of this mosque thing. I’ll never go back there if it gets built.

The only people that can, and I hope will, stop this bitch-slap to the USA are the people of New York.

We should communicate to them our shared outrage that their crappy city officials have left them twisting in the wind and how we will support them in any manner encouraging them to take matters down routes to make sure that other state officials, local lawsuits, protest groups, local business and utilities stop the project from proceeding.

All it takes is one utility board to stand fast as say they will not deliver water service for fire sprinklers or similar road block to bring the whole process to a screaching halt in court. We can’t do it — New Yorkers can and I hope will. Those New Yorkers I deal with will know my support of their outrage and have my encourgament to act to stop this in a non-violent but no less forceful manner.

End of story.

I was thinking more along the lines of 356 law suits and 57 denials of service for planning reviews, code reviews, construction permits, and contractural items needed to proceed.

It shouldn't be hard to arrange for a vial of pig blood to be dropped into each load of concrete.

I agree with some of what you have taken the time to say.

However, I am adamantly against the building of the Muslim Victory Mosque.

If I were King for just one day, I would have it blown to pieces and all those involved in it’s planning and building, muslim or not, would be immediately executed. But then, I will never be King. ;>)

I pray that your approach will come to pass, it is reasonable, but I don’t trust that it will.

The story is just beginning.

Personally, I boycott boycotts. Nevertheless, as a NYC resident, PLEASE boycott our city and don’t ever visit. We have too many tourists as it is.

A more realistic suggestion was for NYC builders, contractors and suppliers to boycott the mosque construction itself.

There are several Muslim contractors here in NYC. There are many Bangladeshis who work in the building trades, so labor won't be much of a problem as well.

There are millions of people there. No matter what their politics are, they must have “some” loyalty to America.

The "people who count" (ie the folks who live in Manhattan, Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, etc.) are rather blase about such things. Flag-waving patriotism isn't very big in NYC. The slight majority of folks who polled against the mosques are largely comprised of 1. Orthodox Jews in the outer boroughs 2. Elderly lower middle class white gentiles in marginal neighborhoods. 3. Hispanics, particularly evangelicals, also in the outer boroughs.

One thing you learn in New York is that only the people with what used to be called "juice" ie influence get things done or changed. In other words, there is nothing to stop the mosque from being built.

At one time America would have shown it's determination and resolve by....

A. Blowing the sh t out of ALL those responsible(that being the only "rules of engagement").

B. Rebuilding the twin-towers(with new technologies of course)exactly as they were(aesthetically)...and have it completed by 9-11-02 and...

C. Force the U.N. to reside on the top 2 floors...or get the hell out.

At one time....

Instead...what does today's brand of "patriotism" look like?...

A. A mooooslim President(to make nice to moooslim's)who bows to other foreign leaders while apologizing for all of(his perceived)America's evil's.

B. Little re-construction done after almost 10 years....of a "please don't hurt us" looking structure on ground-zero... while waiting for the same money grubbers who got us in this financial mess...to get their cut from THIS corrupt enterprise.

C. A mosque being built close enough that the dust of 3000 Americans incinerated will be used as it's foundation.

D. A society of people who are more interested in Lindsey Lohan, Dancing with the Stars and American Idol....than the slaughter of 12 of our finest, on an Army base, on our own soil, by yet another American hating extremist....who was promoted through the ranks by a politically correct system of appeasement...instead of being deported out on his moooooslim ass.

Yep...you've come a long way, baby.

You’re ignoring the fact that it has become a national—even an international—issue. It’s a factor in the governor’s race. And to me it has the feeling of just having gotten started. The anger is contagious.

That's unfortunate. Well, maybe we'll see a new kind of Hard Hat Riot in 2010/2011: Muslim/pro-mosque hard hats vs Non-Muslim/anti-mosque hard hats...

They should move to Florida like Rush.

I think Sean Hannity is chomping at the bit to move to Florida. He's always griping about the high New York state taxes, and he's got good reason to gripe. I think he purchased a second home in/near Naples, FL. If he had only his radio show, I'm guessing he would get outta NY state completely like Rush did.

I know what you're saying, but remember how stunning it was for a few months after 9/11/01? Flags were everywhere, in every window. People have either forgotten, moved away or "moved on"... sad.
