Marco Rubio: Conservatives' New Man in Florida? [NPR - Barf Alert]
NPR? -- Really? NPR? ^ | 02 November 2009 | NPR

That heretical, metaphorical miscue didn't seem to diminish Rubio's support in a room that included at least one prayer group whose members said, "God has chosen Rubio."

And these conservative Floridians hope that next year, Florida voters will choose him, too.

Okay now, for any FReepers who still think Marco Rubio is the "Chosen One" .. Think about this.. NPR writting such a glowing piece on Marco Rubio raises at least ONE Eyebrow doesn't it?

No wonder he thinks he does not need to debate Dr. Escoffery he has aleady been chosen by God BEFORE the Primary... wow.. just wow... a bit presumptuous don't you think.

Vote for Dr. William Escoffery III on 24 August 2010 --

Who Cares? .. I care.. and so should you... we have the opportunity to put a REAL conservative in the U.S. Senate.. we should not “settle” for a candidate who ignores his challengers in the PRIMARY because the RINO GOP has blessed off on him..... I am not saying that Rubio does not have a future which may include the U.S. Senate. He needs some REAL WORLD experience first.. IMHO

I understand Rubio was speaker of the Florida House. Good enough for me. Rubio stumbled a bit on amnesty, but otherwise he is solid. If the other guy wins, so be it. All I care is for the rat and Crist to go down.

passing it on.... Why are Florida Conservatives not making Rubio debate his challengers in the primary? oh wait.. because he already won the PRIMARY... but that does not take place until 24 August 2010?

Escoffery? Good luck with that. I'm sure he's a good guy, and he seems to have solid principles, but five minutes of research tells me that the idea that he has a chance to win is nothing short of delusional.

what is it about Dr. Escoffery that makes you so confident he will not be a FANTASTIC U.S. Senator? When you interview someone for a job do you care more about how effective they will be ON THE JOB, or how good they were at the interview? I am not dismissing the fact that campaigns are important, but in the end we need to decide who will be BEST ON THE JOB for the next 6 years... Far too often we elect folks who are GREAT CAMPAIGNERS but when they get to Washington we are surprised when they don't VOTE the way we thought they were going to based on their "GREAT CAMPAIGN".. electing a person who has LIVED the American dream with a LIFETIME of conservative principles in the REAL WORLD is a much better choice than a RINO POLITICIAN who can run a "GREAT CAMPAIGN" --- A campaign strategy that includes ignoring your opponent because you can WIN without having to engage in a debate ... does not deserve MY VOTE.. and I am asking the Republican voters to seriously think about that on 24 August 2010 and vote for Dr. William Escoffery III

Rubio stumbled a bit on amnesty

Stumbled a bit? Killing ten bills dealing with removing Illegal Aliens, while Rubi was FL House speaker....is not stumbling....its trying to be John McCain/Lindsey Graham.

Rubio also referred to Arizona, after SB 1070 passed, as a “police state”. That is not being a conservative

Because someone in the liberal media claims you are a conservative, does not make you one.

"Delusional" is also a good description of the author of this thread. It seems to be a pattern with him. To reject the common-sense conservatives who have a good chance of winning in favor of no-name Friends of David. Add in overblown denunciations of the popular conservative with just a dash of paranoia and that pretty much describes Osbourne's deep-end rantings. Expect this same pattern to return with each and every election cycle.

My take on this: do I want Crist or some dummocrat in the Senate? NO.... Do I want Rubio in the Senate because he is less of what the other two candidates are or will be, YES. Do I think the good Dr. has any chance of winning this election against Crist and whomever the dem slease is, NO.

So, I vote for Rubio...for those who think that staying home and not voiting for McCain, as bad as he is, was better than what we have now as president, answer that question for yourselves...If you think it was better to stay home and let Odumbo win, I rest my case for why I am voting for Rubio.

I agree with you. If I was still a Floridian, that's what I would assess and vote for him as well.

Then spend the next few years pounding him over immigration, and I mean ruthlessly.

Enough already about the DR...he may be a nice man.

We will know in a few weeks

BTW...I have only seen 1 ad by the good Dr. not a good one either.

I guess you are his ad man.

IMHO he started to late..early voting, and voting by mail. I voted last week for Rubio.

Good luck on Aug

escoffry is just another useful idiot looking to split vots.

he is statistically irrelivent and there is no need to even counter him since he lifts his campainpoints from rubio, has no money, no support, and only woke up after rubio did the heavy lifting and eliminated crist.

And it is those quirky no-name candidates that get David's over the top support almost every election cycle. Expect this to happen again...and again...and again.

Oh, just stop harping on Rubio's supposed lack of acknowledgement of his opponents. Who cares if he does or doesn't? If your guy is so great, then why should you care?

Or are you hoping that Rubio's mention will give him some needed publicity? Rubio may not be your perfect idea of a conservative but he's smart enough to realize he should just keep his mouth shut about some ankle-biter-come-lately candidate.

Talk about policies and stop griping about Rubio. You might get further.
