Press Release: On August 4, 2010, at 10:03 a.m., a police officer with the Vinton Police Department stopped 34-year-old Abdulrahman Abdallah Helou of Lafayette for speeding on Interstate 10. Helou was not able to provide proof of insurance for his vehicle. The officer then removed his license plate for an insurance violation.
Upon completion of the traffic stop, Helou traveled to the Department of Motor Vehicles office in Sulphur in an attempt to retrieve his license plate. After being denied his license plate, Helou called the Vinton Police Department and threatened to "blow up" the police department. Officials with the Vinton Police Department then obtained an arrest warrant for terrorizing.
At 3:20 p.m., Helou returned to the Department of Motor Vehicles office in Sulphur. Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop D responded and apprehended Helou. He was booked on the warrant into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center with a $250,000 bond.
Terrorist, or Freedom Fighter? I need help here.
The Religion of Pieces strikes again!
Picked the wrong state to pull this crap, Abdul.
Goodbye, Helou?
” Now there’s a name that screams Protestant & Puritan!”

The wrong country, actually. This might be the Pakistan Way but it isn’t even the Chicago Way.
IKILLYOU!
another angry Mets fan.
I'm no longer so confident in that, unforch.
Not too bright Abdulla.
LOL out loud.
Now, now, the American thing to do is to extort a bribe or sumfin.
Hell, who among us hasn't? Reminds me of a guy who once told me, "When I'm crowned king, the first thing I'm a-gonna do is line up all the DMV workers single file. Then I'm gonna shoot every fourth one in the line, and tell the rest that they have a performance review coming up in 30 days."
Fatwa and a Jihad against the DMV.
I have to admit, when I went to the DMV to get a title changed over and had to wait 2 and one half hours, watching only 2 counter people working (I use the term loosely) at a time while 6 other workstations were unmanned.. they would handle two clients and then go in the back for a 30 minute break while another waddled out to pinch hit.. I was having dark, dark thoughts.
They need a nonfat fatwa. I’ve met more portly people behind the desk at the DMV (and I am no skinny myself). Then there was this weirdo who insisted on playing the role of an overfond grandpa.
The same thing happens at post offices. There will be a long line, one person manning a window, and several others dawdling behind the line of windows or engrossed in counting letters or money at a window, clearly not available for customers. This wouldn’t be allowed at any large retail store that cares about keeping customers.
Press Release: On August 4, 2010, at 10:03 a.m., a police officer with the Vinton Police Department stopped 34-year-old Abdulrahman Abdallah Helou of Lafayette for camel racing on Interstate 10. Helou was not able to provide proof of insurance nor rabies shots for his camel. The officer then confiscated his camel for an animal cruelty violation.
Upon completion of the traffic stop, Helou traveled to the Department of Motor Vehicles office in Sulphur on his new rent-a-camel in an attempt to retrieve his racing camel. After being denied his animal, Helou called the Vinton Police Department and threatened to "blow up" the police department with a suicide camel-bomb. Officials with the Vinton Police Department then obtained an arrest warrant for threatening police with a IEC [Improvised Explosive Camel].
