I would have thought diabetes one of the easier ailments to diagnose.

"Jerry had had all these Margaritas, so I just let him sleep," his wife, Rosee, a registered nurse told the Michigan paper. "But then I heard these screams coming from the bedroom, and he was yelling, 'My toe's gone, my toe's gone!'"

Sorry, Jerry, but....

BWAHAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAA!

'I would have thought diabetes one of the easier ailments to diagnose.'

You'd be surprised. If you don't know the symptoms, mention certain issues to your doctor during a check up, or have a doc that checks your A1c as part of a bloodwork battery, you can carry it around for years and not realize it. By then, it's already done damage. Mine was first flagged by a company nurse during casual conversation.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

a friend of mine was diagnosed as diabetic, and he only found out when a small cut became infected and would not heal.

I posted a story about this from a different source the other day. As expected, it was a good thread.
