US First Lady Michelle Obama and her nine-year-old daughter Sasha on Thursday visited Granada, the former seat of Moorish rule in Spain, during the second day of her holiday in the country.
The two had ice cream in the centre of the southern city as dozens of cameramen and local residents looked on before they began their tour of Granada amid temperatures that soared to nearly 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit).
Michelle Obama smiled and waved to the crowd before entering the city's imposing cathedral, which contains the tombs of Spain's king Ferdinand of Aragon and queen Isabella of Castile, the first stop on their tour.
Their visit will also take in the hilltop Albaicin quarter of narrow alleyways and small squares as well the Alhambra fortress-palace, Spain's most-visited tourist attraction, at sunset, the local municipality said.
They are also expected to take in a flamenco performance in one of the city's old taverns.
The Alhambra was once the residence of Moorish kings but it is now one of the world's largest open-air museums of Islamic architecture and a World Heritage Site.
The US First Lady and Sasha arrived on Spain's Mediterranean coast on Wednesday for a vacation with friends at the five-star Hotel Villa Padierna in the hills above the seaside resort of Marbella, a haunt for the rich and famous.(continued)

We have to cut corners and give up certain things in our life to save money but we can pay for them to have their luxury over in Spain.
This is an outrage but even worse is that this so called media is so biased that they do not even see it any more and will not cover them in great detail nor will they ask questions about their past or wy they continue to spend our money.
Now why the hell is her friends, mother in law there too and don’t you find it weird that it was her husbands birthday and she could not be there for him or her children.
Do they not do birthdays like Christmas?
I voe that Michelle wear a burka. I don’t want to see her getting all sweaty.
That and his ungracious nature explains why he gives such awful presents to visiting dignitaries.
For all of Code Pinko’s talk of American Imperialism, there has been NO attention paid to Islamic conquest for the Islamic empire.

I know the obama’s will try and get away with anything they can and they are but what pisses me off just as much or even more is this so called media which gives these people as free pass over everything.
This is an outrage that she took her family, mother in law, friends at our cost and then stay where she is while we all cut back and lose jobs.
I don’t care if this was a republican or a Dem it is wrong and that is what makes us different to he left wing. We have principles where as they have selective outrage and that goes for wars, killing etc
My family has not been away for even a day for two years and all they ever do is vacation which we pay for.
I hope this media is investigated and charged if they find they have been working with the white hose to lie etc.
OK We know they have but we need evidence and the GOP should be raising these questions too.

The ice cream is all going to her butt. Note that she dresses to hide the enormous size of her cheeks. And to think, she is the lard czar preaching to the serfs that they should eat healthy. Hopefully her brats won’t become fat piggies. What a disgusting excuse for an American.
The whole family is seriously into ice cream. Obama adds his own specialty of shouting a lunch order to the guys behind a counter where most people walk up and order with a regular speaking tone.
