This time a Sarah Palin endorsement wasn't enough for victory. But score another win for Sen. Jim DeMint.
Rep. Todd Tiahrt was edged out by Rep. Jerry Moran in a battle between two conservative congressmen for the Republican Senate nomination in Kansas. Moran is now considered the overwhelming favorite in November's general election to succeed GOP Sen. Sam Brownback, who is running for Kansas governor rather than for re-election to Congress.
Tiahrt was endorsed by the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee in June. In a Facebook post, Palin said Tiahrt was "a protector of our Constitution, a pro-family, pro-Second Amendment commonsense conservative who has never voted for a tax increase."

I can tell you what she did to all of us:
I support his [McCain] position on immigration.
- Sarah Palin, Mar. 27, 2010
Looks like Tiahrt went from trailing by double digits to losing by only 4.9%, so I guess Sarah still gave him a big boost.
But what I don't like about this and other similar stories about these endorsements is that they don't tell us if there were any significant policy differences between the candidates. Were these two about the same on major issues? Amnesty, cap and trade, energy policy, and other issues. They don't tell us, and that would be worth knowing for those of us several states away from some of these contests.
Moran was endorsed by McCain and other establishment types....get it?
BTW Sarah hasn’t been down there with McCain since early spring even when she was in AZ....She hasn’t said anything about him since then but you people keep fibbing as thought Sarah is strategizing with McCain and is doing rallies for him or some....SHEESH!!
J.D. should be winning but he messed up at key points early on...it’s not Sarah fault
pissant, the anti Haley/Palin poster, has an agenda and spreads propanda like nobody else.
And since you voted for him in 2008, you did this to us too. And if you didn’t vote for him in 2008, you gave us Øbama.
Palin didn’t pull her weight in 2008. Sarah gave us Obama.
Her silence is deafening. She should have backed the conservative, but AFTER he announced she stood up for McLame. If she changed horses, she should say so.
Sorry, but Sarah lost a couple clicks on my meter for that sell-out to the RINO world. With her running start, McCain is going to win the primary and you all will have to live with our McLettuce man.
EDGED out, huh? Sounds like BOTH endorsements worked, it's just that the man DeMint endorsed happened to get a few more votes. Either way, sounds like Kansas won, if both men are conservatives.

LOL! Is that anything like his BARNEY Fifes? Who is editing those CNN stories?
Both are.
Care to elaborate on his errors? It is hard to overcome a $ 116K per day campaign budget (announced today on talk radio) of McCain AND the unretracted endoresment of Palin. She is paying him back or some such ridiculous thing. Whatever, many of us here in AZ think she was one of the deciding factors.
SurveyUSA was polling the race the day Sarah announced her endorsement June 24. That poll was 53-33 Moran.
ROTFL! Are you serious? If FR was any indication, McCain would have gone down in FLAMES, if not for the folks who held their noses and voted for him, simply because Sarah Palin was on the ticket.
I think you need to do some research. She nearly dragged the old bastard across the line all by herself. He lost it. She didn’t.
McCain does not even come to AZ but just every so often. Long enough to hob nob with the wealthy of Sedona & Scottsdale, tell us we need lettuce pickers, and run back to Wash. to vote for illegals getting citizenship. She ought to pick her friends better.
That's the problem. It's not worth anything. Leftist media trying to pit Republicans against Republicans. Yeah, that has a lot of credibility.
I think if a dog pooped in the street in the shape of the letter 'P', you'd claim it represents the Palin vote. Are you lonely?
This is not news. It's not even good commentary. It's the kind of stuff liberals drool over. Why did you post it here?
Because the cultists here insist Palin is not only a demi-goddess, but she’s the new GOP kingmaker too.
