Today, voters in Missouri helped bring the Jeffersonian principle of Nullification one step closer to the mainstream by approving Proposition C the Health Care Freedom Act.
The new Missouri statute is nearly identical to Virginias Health Care Freedom Act which is being defended by Virginia AG Ken Cuccinelli, and was given the green light to proceed in court by a Federal Judge this week. The Missouri proposition passed the Senate on May 4th by a 26-8 vote, and the House on May 11th by 108-47 vote. Today, voters approved Prop C by a wide margin early returns showed over 75% in favor.
The legislation provides that:
No law or rule shall compel, directly or indirectly, any person, employer, or health care provider to participate in any health care system.
and
A person or employer may pay directly for lawful health care services and shall not be required by law or rule to pay penalties or fines for paying directly for lawful health care services. A health care provider may accept direct payment for lawful health care services and shall not be required by law or rule to pay penalties or fines for accepting direct payment from a person or employer for lawful health care services.
NULLIFICATION
The principle behind such legislation is nullification, which has a long history in the American tradition. When a state nullifies a federal law, it is proclaiming that the law in question is void and inoperative, or non-effective, within the boundaries of that state; or, in other words, not a law as far as the state is concerned. Implied in such legislation is that the state apparatus will enforce the act against all violations in order to protect the liberty of the states citizens.

75% in favor. I assume the St. Louis precincts haven’t reported yet, but that’s a huge number to overcome.
Bless you, Misouri.
and Steny Hoyer thinks this is going to be a great August recess for RAT Town Hall meetings.
Perhaps he should not count on a lovefest back in the districts?
Looking at this map:
and every county so far voting for Prop C. Counties around St Louis voting For Prop C overwhelming.
The nullification of “Obamacare” is now quite clear and documented in Missouri, and will soon be the mantra and will of the entire country. But.....the real impact of tonight’s primary votes is the lack of turnout by Democrat rank & file voters. Actually POTUS Obama is now officially “radioactive”!!! Very few Democrat politicians want to be seen near him or associated with him. Too late!!! Those of us who had Obama’s game, begged and warned you Democrat folks to flush him down the toilet, but you chose to do his bidding....and now you are all stuck with him. The political bloodbath tht will occur on November 2, 2010 will virtually destroy the Democrat Party as it stands today. And.....America says, Goodbye and Good Riddance, failures!!! POTUS Obama is passe’, boring, dumb and useless on all fronts. What dummies to follow that buffoon and his ilk of elitists politicians and union thugs!!! He has led you all over the cliff!!!
What a great present for Barry O’s birthday.

Ah hah! so states are finally asserting their rights .... to go to our real overlords, the judges, and ask for permission to tell congress to pound sand! Good first step, but let's get past that first part too.
Way to go, MO!!!;)
Missouri has your ‘voter amnesia’ right here, Doctor Utopia...
I can see November from my house!!!
48% of precincts reporting now and it is still holding at 75% against Obamacare. Nice. :-)
And the Dums think they have a chance in NOV.
And what about Kansas City? Don’t they vote about as liberal as St. Louis?
Doctor Utopia will say that the Missourians have been bamboozled by Fox News...all 57 states could pass similar measures and he would still fight them. His narcissism is malignant.
Very neat map. Thanks, MustKnowHistory.
I wish he would just move to France.
What birthday? Let's see the Illegal's real birth certificate.
