As political parties roll up their sleeves for the next election, some supporters are already playing dirty. A Shoreline man says vandals have targeted his home twice in the last two weeks.
Election season is upon us, and Ken Potts isn't the type of person to keep his opinions to himself.
"I spent 21 years in the military, three in combat to defend our rights to have private property and to express ourselves," said the Viet Nam vet.
Potts uses his yard on the very high traffic corner of 185th and Meridian to support the candidates he believes in. Many of them are Republican. Then political vandals struck.
"They stole all the signs we had up about two weeks ago. The next morning we found them scattered throughout the neighborhood, so we collected them back up," he said.
His wife even wired the signs to the fence to keep it from happening again.
Then last weekend, he came home to find a sign with a very different message on the utility pole in front of his home.
"It was tacked up there and it said 'Republicans are a disease,'" said Potts.

Tell him to do what I did when my signs started being stolen. I bought some cheap gloves, and went to the nearest poison ivy patch. Rubbed the signs thoroughly with the ivy. Couple nights later, the signs were stolen again. The brat that lives next store, and his buddy down the street showed up with a bad case, all over their hands and arms. I said, “Joe! That’s a pretty bad case of poison ivy! Where’d ya get it?” He said he didn’t know. I went inside and laughed my butt off. Got some more signs, and “treated” them again!
As usual this is happening with signs all over Puget Sound. The ratio of leftist signs being pulled down to pubbie is probably in the neighborhood of 10:1. In several instances the signs I put up for our pubbie candidate disappeared and the rat signs installed IN THE SAME HOLES!
GOP campaign staffers and candidates have urged volunteers not to reciprocate but it is going to get worse since the only thing the left has is disruption.

That’s how the left operates. Deep down they are hateful, self-loathing fascists who want control over peoples’ minds and bodies. There is no freedom when the left is in control.

I also live in Shoreline, and I noticed during the 2004 election that every Republican sign along Aurora Avenue was defaced.
I hope you have stopped by and expressed your support...maybe you all can set up a watch of some sort.

Mr. Potts' house has been hit before, and there have been articles posted to FR about it. he lives just down the street from me in Shoreline, and I pass his house almost daily.
More Ditto. I especially like his Israel flag. His signs were probably torn down by the nuts down at that church at 175th.
Which one? The Methodist? The Lutheran? Another one I don’t know about.
