Mod note: The headline originally read: Fox News to move to Thomas' front-row briefing room seat
The White House Correspondents Association voted unanimously Sunday afternoon to move Fox News to the front row of the White House briefing room.
The seating change was prompted by the resignation of veteran UPI reporter Helen Thomas.
According to Ed Henry, the senior White House correspondent for CNN and member of the WHCA board, the Associated Press will move to the front-row middle seat formerly occupied by Thomas.
Fox News will replace the AP in its former seat, also in the front row, and NPR, which lobbied for Thomas' seat along with Fox and Bloomberg News, will take Fox's former seat in the second row.
The 2010-2011 WHCA board includes representatives from USA Today, Reuters, C-SPAN, the New York Times, Politico, Time Magazine, NPR and the DC Examiner.
Thomas, a longtime critic of Israeli foreign policy, had resigned in late May after a video clip in which she said that Israelis should "get the hell out of Palestine" and "go home" -- to Europe, the United States and other places -- surfaced on the internet.
Liberal groups had lobbied for NPR's placement in the front row over Fox, which one petition called a "right-wing propaganda outlet."
Of course this should happen given the overwhelming viewership #’s of Fox News. Nothing else comes close.
Here are some points they could raise from the front row

Congratulations to Fox!
Sheesh, look at all the ridiculous wrangling of these lapdogs over seating arrangements at the foot of the emperor. Disgusting.
Thanks for the ping!
Good for Fox, they deserve a front row seat since they are by far the most watched News channel after the big 3.
As to the politburo in D.C. I see stupid people everywhere..
This appears, at least, as a huge slap for Gibbs and the empty suit he speaks for, who have doggedly criticized and denigrated Fox News as no more than a propaganda outlet.
Fox News just needs to watch the 'pens' at their back. As does all this Media, really, need to be mindful of who is behind them - given their vote.
(Perhaps there are other reasons for the vote, beyond the quality and significance of Fox News*; but whatever it is; appreciate the move; (on it's 'face', this is a hoot, given WH opposition!). . .Go Major! Go Fox News!
(*don't want to hear the 'Saudi thing' here!)
The original title of this THREAD stated that Fox was to move to Thomas's front-row seat. It was stated incorrectly.
The bid from Fox for a front-row seat sparked a protest from some over the network's perceived right-wing leanings.
The advocacy groups Working Assets and MoveOn.org launched an online campaign through social media website Facebook to lobby the WHCA to give the seat to NPR.
In a statement posted on the Working Assets website Credo Action on Sunday, the group said, "While we're disappointed that the seat did not go to NPR, we're delighted the board found a way to avoid giving the coveted front-row center seat to Fox." ************
LOL.. .
Beyond 'memoirs'; does Helen write now, for 'any'body? Has she been seen/heard from? (OK, 'not that I care' - she has long deserved her just deserts; but am curious.) Perhaps, she has a retreat somewhere. . .in Syria or somesuch. . .
How could the vote have been unanimous if NPR was on the board and voted, if they themselves wanted the seat FNC won? Are they so stupid they voted against themselves?
oh man.. this akin to letting the Hen(talons of steel, trained in the arts of truth, and spear of the right) rofl into the Fox den... libs are gonna go mental.
FNC joining the Ruling Class. Perks and prestige. I’m not impressed. Its a microcosm of the liberal world view. Some panel of Ruling Class decides who sits where. Puke.
The nest question is: Will Gibbs ever choose Fox News to
ask a question?
well the leftist fanatics campaigning for NPR to get the seat is another reminder (as thought any were needed) that NPR is a propaganda tool of the left....
how “interesting” that bozos like MoveOn.org and WorkingAssets don’t think it’s even a bit embarrassing to NPR to have such obviously hard-left shills regarding NPR as their ideological butt-buddy
NPR staffers should be embarrassed, except that they are probably half the paying membership of MoveOn these days....
Any word on Obama`s missing school records?
I think the Imp is Obama in this thread LOL!
Bring out the Imp LOL!
