For One Senate Seat in Illinois, Two Elections on the Same Day

CHICAGO In all the fuss over the Senate seat that President Obama left behind here, and whether it was offered up in a nefarious trade, some people demanded a clean start. Let the voters of Illinois elect someone to fill the vacancy.
The simple idea has been granted.
But as only Illinois, and its topsy-turvy politics, might execute such things, the new election has been set for Nov. 2 almost two years after Mr. Obama left the seat and on the very day that voters will also choose his permanent successor.
So voters have the somewhat puzzling opportunity to pick a replacement for the remaining weeks of Mr. Obamas original term and, in the same visit to the polls, choose a new senator to begin a full term on Jan. 3.

Wha?
That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.
I have referenced, as a theme, in these posts, that we passed through the looking glass. I see no evidence, to date, that I am wrong.
I suppose that part of it will be fun. But of course the negative side is he and his fellow socialist Alexi are scheming to use this as excuse to raise twice as money as they're normally allowed.
If Roland Burris was illegally seated in the Senate, would his vote nullify the health care bill?
This is Illinois where the Bipartisan Corrupt Combine runs the show? Now we have combined elections.
Right now Alexi the Mob Banker, Mark Bioforgetfull Kirk, or Lee Alan Jones of the Socialist Heavy Green Party.
Hopefully Randy Stufflebeam, Constitution Party Candidate or Michael Labno, Libertarian Party Candidate will be on the ballot.
There are 3 or 4 independent candidates who filed but all have been challenged along with Randy & Michael.
No problem. Chicago Democrat voters are already used to voting (at least) twice. Although it may confuse them to do so under the same name at the same precinct.
They’re going with 2 elections? So lame.
This could end up helping ‘irk a little, Burris is POed that Alexi G will be the candidate for the rump term. He might raise a little stink. The phrase “they’d be denying the only African American in the Senate” has already appeared in print.
