On the surface this is a great idea. Encourage healthy lifestyles. Then look under the cover and you see community organizing with the NMA, government and churches, plus a setup for affirmative action for the medical field. Welcome to Obamacare!

America definitely needs more "minority physicians". Don't know how we ever made it this long without them. sarc/
What a bunch of cracker-hating racists.

Playing the race card over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over is only going to create racists.

The fundamental problem is the relative lack of educational effort and achievement by blacks, especially in the hard disciplines that are based on science and mathematics. This sharply limits the pool of potential black medical professionals and assures that those who are recruited into the field must be accepted with significantly lower qualifications than white medical professionals.

As long as these minority physicians are just going to treat minorities, I guess it’s OK with me.

Hate to tell them, but once Obamacare kicks in, there won’t be ANY physicians — minority or otherwise.

need for more minority physiciansYep, need to do what the USPS did,, dumb down the test's for technical skills needed so custodians could pass the test,,, I'm not kidding,, this recently happened at the USPS,
Not enough blacks in the better paying maintenance side. I guess they want to dumb down the Physician's test??????ya,, that's gonna work......

minority health care workers etc
why minority why not just GOOD health care workers, nurses and Docs.
These people are nothing but racists and anyone who see diversity or wants it is a racist too.
I want GOOD Docs, teachers, people , neighbors, diversity has nothing to do with anything but in a racist mind where they only see color, religion and race

Heavy pressure on affirmative action selections of physicians and other medical personnel will raise questions about the quality of their education, skills and capabilities. That will lead some non-minorities to avoid such medical personnel. This is a scenario to create the very discrimination that such programs are supposed to fight. Maybe that is the real purpose: to continue the permanent race industry.

These knee jerk "victims" need to go home, lay down some rules of study and responsibility for their kids, turn off the tv, limit the cell and round ball time, and get into med school the same way other groups do--by competing.
I am sick to death of special set asides, special preferences, etc. The slaves were freed a hundred fifty years ago, at least from their former masters. But they just changed owners. Now they are owned by the DNC and "leaders"(read con men) like Sharpton, Jackson, and Obama.

And should we lower the standards for those physicians in the same manner as the standards have obviously been lowered for folks like Rangel, Waters, etc.
My gawd, man, there are NO standards in congress, and I regard a parasite infected fly with more respect than I regard our leaders.
Their time is coming.
Soon.

At our hospital staff meetings we often have to deal with who is the best minority physician. Patients ask all the time, right after “ I want the best minority surgeon to operate on my mom!”

With the loudly voiced and intense hatred towards whites that is coursing through the black community, I will not trust a minority doctor...this might be the day he listened to Shirley Sherrod and had to decide "how much he was going to help" this cracker.
I'm watching for over 50 years as the minority community seeks to achieve professional status...a few have, most have not.
It's pathetic that it has to be this way, but everytime, it seems, we extend that "hand" - as the ad says - if it doesn't have a "handout" attached to it, they just chop it off.
So until the racial hatred the blacks hold for "my kind" changes, I'll stick to doctors that are "my kind", as well...nothing against the color, just the attitude.
