It’s illegal to own or sell or possess in any way any part (including feathers) of any migratory bird. And yes people still get arrested for this.
We have put up with this since 1918, a law that makes it illegal to own or possess a single feather from a migratory bird.
And there is the Lacey Act, a similar act. I ran across some re-enactors who had turkey feathers in their tricorner hats. They used to use found-in-the-woods hawk feathers, but they had been warned by cops that they could be arrested under Migratory Bird and Lacey Act, just a warning- this time- boys! And don’t forget you are in possession of (blackpowder) firearms while feloniously possessing the feathers!
Google Peggy Ann Bargon for a typically outrageous use of this law.
I think if America understood what is being lost and at what rate, it might make a difference, but only if it interfered with a Bowl game or three NASCAR races in a row.

Sometimes. In the case of the French Revolution, you are right. The Russian Revolution, partly right (see: Trotsky). The Chinese Revolution, not really. Our revolution, no.
No question that is true. But revolution isn't just guns and sabotage. It can (and should) be something like the Governor of AZ refusing to acknowledge a fascist court ruling and continuing to enforce the real law. A large coordinated effort by private sector groups to simply refuse to obey illegal federal edicts. A couple of mainstream Republicans in the Senate standing on the floor and call Obama and his Dem followers fascists and an illegal government. Revolution could be the entire Republican membership of the House blockading the halls and physically stopping business and votes.
It can be done, but our so called representatives would rather have the crumbs tossed at them from a despotic ruler than take any risk to uphold the Constitution as they are sworn to do.
The article is talking about small economy that Obama is producing, not small govt.
A good friend of mine likes to say now, “There will be no problem until the first federal worker gets laid off”. Perhaps he is on to something.

Ummm, what is being done to the private sector is unsustainable. Without a private sector, you have no public sector...it’s only a matter of time before these government workers lose their jobs.
Doubt me? Look what the Governor has to do to public workers in California. California is a microcosm of what the country faces at large.
If only more people (beyond FR and active conservatives) would read Angelo Codevilla’s article then their anger would be more accurately directed and the stereotypical rhetoric would be replaced with rational objections. Unfortunately it takes an attention span longer than the average TV show and an ability to put aside personal bias. I find it heartening though that many I speak with know of his article.

Just food for thought, would you consider the American Revolution a civil war, not actually a revolution?
Civil War means imposing a political reality on a populace by means of War. Revolution means changing the way of governance.
The American Revolution was an insurrection and a separatist movement.
On the IBD website this article has 216 replies so far this morning. The usual number of replies to an IBD editorial is 6 or 7 with a rare one getting 15 replies. I have never seen anything close to 216 comments before.
