Will Washington's Failures Lead To Second American Revolution?

The Internet is a large-scale version of the "Committees of Correspondence" that led to the first American Revolution — and with Washington's failings now so obvious and awful, it may lead to another.

People are asking, "Is the government doing us more harm than good? Should we change what it does and the way it does it?"

Pruning the power of government begins with the imperial presidency.

Too many overreaching laws give the president too much discretion to make too many open-ended rules controlling too many aspects of our lives. There's no end to the harm an out-of-control president can do.

Bill Clinton lowered the culture, moral tone and strength of the nation — and left America vulnerable to attack. When it came, George W. Bush stood up for America, albeit sometimes clumsily.

Barack Obama, however, has pulled off the ultimate switcheroo: He's diminishing America from within — so far, successfully.

He may soon bankrupt us and replace our big merit-based capitalist economy with a small government-directed one of his own design.

He is undermining our constitutional traditions: The rule of law and our Anglo-Saxon concepts of private property hang in the balance. Obama may be the most "consequential" president ever.

The Wall Street Journal's steadfast Dorothy Rabinowitz wrote that Barack Obama is "an alien in the White House."

Nope. NFA, GCA68, Nixon closing gas stations on weekends and setting the speed limit to 55, and a long series of rigged elections, did not stir the ire of Americans.

As long as there is gas for the cars and enough channels of TV we are unlikely to revolt.

I think the new revolution will start when the Republicans do not stop what is happening after then gain control.

Yes, Obama will continue to over reach and ignore the will of the people. As he empowers his czars, enlists the activist courts, and undermines states rights, there will be a breaking point.
For instance his current end run of congress to invoke amnesty for illegals, will be puctuated by enabling and encouraging their participation in large scale voter fraud.

I agree too. The Republicans are going to go back to pushing the same socialist crap again at a lower speed again. People are going to get pissed and demand real changes in the federal government.

It’s clear to many of us that Obama, the Bushes, the Clintons, McCain, and many others are all players in an elite group of influential people and policy makers.

Angelo Codevilla’s article in the American Spectator does a smashing job making the contention that the elites in this country include all the Democrats and many Republicans, along with the media, academia, and the foundations. The elites are aligned against the interests of the people.

Perhaps you’ve heard all that talk about RINOs and the disgust produced among conservatives.

No, the Republicans won’t get a pass from me, and many of the people I talk with, too.

Revolution is risky, dangerous, committed work. Different from just having conversations, posting on the internet, and bitching over coffee down at Starbucks.

Not saying all our side is this way, but it will take more like the Tea Party and less like the RINOs.

After November, we should see where this needs to go. I’m not one that is willing to rollover for those bastards in DC....
