Michael Dupree is serving a 12-year sentence for burglary and cocaine possession stemming from a 2007 break-in of a van in St. Petersburg. Dupree allegedly stole a bicycle locked inside and was apprehended after the owner, Anthony McKoy, saw him with the bike down the street.

Next time, I hope that the “victim” just calls the Coroner and saves everybody the headache.
I know that’s my plan of attack.
LOL, this suit is just so the inmate has something to do - - like a bus trip to a courtroom.
No jury in the US, not even OJ’s, would allow this to find its mark.
If these criminals were killed during the crime, there could be no stupid lawsuit from them.
Can anyone tell me what ISN’T completely backwards in this country?
You sure this isn’t John Edwards?
“Can anyone tell me what ISNT completely backwards in this country?”

Well I’ve got the perimeter of my Man Cave secure, and you can believe the environs therin are thoroughly, in the traditional American sense, DEFINTIELY the way things should be.
We can build out from there, to save the rest of the country.
“Dupree allegedly stole a bicycle locked inside and was apprehended “
Note to editor: if they are convicted of the crime you don’t need to say “allegedly”
It will still cost the guy six figures to defend himself.
The court system makes money, the lawyers make money, and everybody's happy.
Except the victim, who go victimized again.
He should be thanking his lucky stars that being roughed up is all he got. This is the kind of crap that you get from the prisons, where legal representation is free and the dirtbags have nothing to do all day but sit and dream up lawsuits.
May I suggest that next he sue the maker of the bicycle for not having the necessary qualities to allow him to petal fast enough to avoid being caught?
Should have shot his knees apart.
Give him something to really bitch about.
Exactly. Inmates file frivolous lawsuits all the time. What else have they got to do? That such a lawsuit was filed isn't really newsworthy. If it goes to trial, then we'll have something to talk about.
Go buy a POS handgun from someone in the line for the next liberal “gun buy-back” and keep it so that you have a throw-down gun.
Yes, officer, the SOB was ARMED and I was afraid for my life so I shot him. Why did I shoot him 13 times? Because 12 wasn’t enough and 14 was too many!
Attention SCUMBAG Criminal and Lawyer:
The arresting Individuals LET YOU LIVE ... I don’t see where you have something to WHINE about!
Had that been MY Garage .....
So these guys just happened to have hand cuffs with them when they captured this petty criminal.
I know that they are available to civilians. But few civilians buy them and fewer carry them around.
If I were a a judge or juror on this case He would need physical proof of injury and proof that it happened at the time of his capture by the actions Dupree said McKoy.
He would also need to prove that the injuries were not the result of his resistance to arrest.
Well, my DR650 was running pretty well on my ride to work this morning...
The bottom line it is another inconvenience for the guy whose home this turd tried to burgle.
Living in Texas, we don’t need to go through all that crap.
Break into my home, or my neighbor’s home, I blow your crap away.
End of problem.
