Cynics beware, I am romantic about the National Health Service; I love it.
The NHS is one of the astounding human endeavours of modern times. (Donald Berwick).

How incredibly sad. She must have been scared to death knowing she was dying while nothing was being done for her.

you bet its comming...hospice and home health are already starting to spend less on patients and more on themselves..increasing cost of less care. one of my moms nurses was bragging that medicare was dropping doctors to $30.00 per visit...I just looked at her and said ..dont laugh ..you are next.

This type of travesty WILL become commonplace. Americans are fighting an invading army in Arizona and other border states, without federal backup or assistance. The same mindset will exist in healthcare. It will be every man for himself. I would resort to extreme measures to save the life of one of my family members. If it meant under-the-table reward to a healthcare professional or any creative measure—doesn’t matter. Save the life and deal with the penalties later. My family is full of doctors and nurses. We will do whatever it takes to make sure that each other gets lifesaving treatment if it comes to that.

If anyone remembers the old Chuck Barris Gong Show, this is the kind of line that he would use to introduce some acts:
This next act is great...I love this next act. But then again, I love the National Health Service!"

Ignoring symptoms, not to mention objective MRI demonstrating problems, blowing off diagnosis is not new, nor is it exclusive to NHS -- it happens here in the US right now, no need to keep thinking it is a "coming attraction".
To: MozarkDawg
You aint’ seen nuttin’ yet. As our system begins to mirror the NHS, and rapidly shifts away from care-giving to cost-cutting, with bureaucrats replacing doctors, the bodies and B.S. will pile up so fast, you'll have to sprout wings just to stay above it.
