Memo outlines backdoor 'amnesty' plan

Immigration staffers cite tools available without reform

With Congress gridlocked on an immigration bill, the Obama administration is considering using a back door to stop deporting many illegal immigrants - what a draft government memo said could be "a non-legislative version of amnesty."

The memo, addressed to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Alejandro Mayorkas and written by four agency staffers, lists tools it says the administration has to "reduce the threat of removal" for many illegal immigrants who have run afoul of immigration authorities.

"In the absence of comprehensive immigration reform, USCIS can extend benefits and/or protections to many individuals and groups by issuing new guidance and regulations, exercising discretion with regard to parole-in-place, deferred action and the issuance of Notices to Appear," the staffers wrote in the memo, which was obtained by Sen. Charles E. Grassley, Iowa Republican.

The memo suggests that in-depth discussions have occurred on how to keep many illegal immigrants in the country, which would be at least a temporary alternative to the proposals Democrats in Congress have made to legalize illegal immigrants.

Chris Bentley, a USCIS spokesman, said drafting the memo doesn't mean the agency has embraced the policy and "nobody should mistake deliberation and exchange of ideas for final decisions."

So, just as they decided to spend trillions of "TARP" money in a completely different fashion than the people wanted, they will just go ahead and "deem" this to be a better way around our desires to control the borders and stuff the registration rolls for the Dim Party. We will be a one party nation (officially) and it will clearly have nothing to do with a government by the people or for the people...

I hope this will nothing but a clash between opposing forces of voters, but it seems too explosive. It is too deep a disagreement, too fundamentally rooted in our respective beliefs in a way of life to which we each are totally committed, Republic or Socialist. We know they can not exist peacefully. There is no history to suggest it.

This is not simply socialist creep, a push from a small number of radicals; it is the rush of the left, abetted by many around the world, to finally end our grand experiment.

Will the resistance to this virulent, leftist imposition of will end in a heated debate and resolution through the ballot box, or will it create a resurgent Free Republic, the mounting of a resistance that forces some of us to become rebels?

This should be the straw that breaks our backs.

***”...what a draft government memo said could be “a non-legislative version of amnesty.” ***

As BECK pointed out, this administration is doing all it can to make Congress irrelivant as a part of government.

Soon we will have rule by decree.

“In the absence of comprehensive immigration reform”

We do not enforce the laws we have now yet the discussion is to always add new ones. The AZ lawsuit has shown Americans that the federal government is only interested in taking your money and not enforcing any law they pass.

Promoting policies that maintain slave wages for LEGAL immigrants is racist.

“In testifying to the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 11, Mr. Mayorkas first said he was unaware of discussions to use these kinds of tools on a categorical basis, then later clarified that officials had talked about expanding the use of those powers”

That sounds like some kind of strategic use of perjury. If Mayorkas lied to the Comnmittee then he needs to resign or be removed.

These bureaucrats have an agenda that borders on outright sedition.

“Sad is that we have a number of GOP who support such Illegal Alien Amnesty”

Until we make the punishments for employing illegals severe to the point of being draconian, the RINOs will continue to run interference for those employers.

Those employers should be prosecuted under the RICO laws for conspiracy and racketeering. Their assets should be seized and auctioned, since they profited from the racketeering activity.

Staff level employees who clearly know that illegals are hired, such as HR directors should be imprisoned. Do this for big hotel chains and restaurant holding companies and you WILL see them get rid of their illegals.

I didn’t mean at the illegals.

Also, it is worth noting that volunteers in TX and AZ have begun mobilizing, with the express purpose of conducting armed patrols on the border.
