The Environmental Protection Agency Thursday rejected an effort to keep it from regulating greenhouse gas emissions, saying that e-mails released in last falls Climategate scandal gave it no reason to reconsider the science of global warming.
In a sternly written opinion, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson said she didnt agree with requests from the GOP attorneys general from Texas and Virginia, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other conservative groups that questioned the underlying science linking humans to global warming and also warned of the potential economic burdens from new climate rules.
Jackson said the groups arguments lack merit.
These petitions based as they are on selectively edited, out-of-context data and a manufactured controversy provide no evidence to undermine our determination, Jackson wrote.
Regarding the e-mails, Jackson said an agency review of the materials show a candid discussion of scientists working through issues that arise in compiling and presenting large complex data sets. She said four independent reviews have reached similar conclusions.
EPAs rules have added weight for the Obama administration now that the Senate has punted for the year on plans to pass a cap-and-trade bill to address climate change.

I heard something on the news today about the gov’t doing some vehicle testing against a broad range of vehicles but they weren’t going to separate them by class types. Wonder if this has anything to do with it.
They rule that it was a pollutant. They told EPA to tell them why it should or should be considered a pollutant.
When Obama was elected the new EPA came out with an “Endangerment Finding” showing that CO2 was a pollutant because it was dangerous to the climate.
They used the 2007 UN IPCC report to justify it. The challenge was to this Endangerment Finding. Why? See Climategate. Half the papers in this report were not even peer reviewed. The technical basis for the endangerment finding is pure bovine excrement.
Well...the EPA is required by law to follow the “Data Quality Act” when making new regulations. Last time I checked I wasn’t able to publicly comment on UN report.
The EPA couldn’t get the raw temperature record or raw CO2 record even if they wanted it.
EPA is full of freak’n Nazis.
Whoops. First line should read:
They didn’t rule that it was a pollutant.
Sounds very strange. I would call the cops.
Can’t wait until these little marxists have to deal with having their budgets cut in half next year! Lisa Jackson should be frog marched to capitol hill for investigative hearings into her handling of the oil spill too.
NOVEMBER IS COMING! TIME TO THROW THE COMMIES OUT!
A few strategic tar and feathering's wouldn't hurt either...
yes epa
I’d be ok if some of these tyrants started disappearing through holes in the ice.

Me too. If these little commies are not stopped at the ballot box in November, this country might be in a civil war by the end of next year. I don’t see how we can avoid it. They are in the minority in this country, yet they are ramming tyranny and marxism down our throats and robbing this country blind. It has to be stopped. Our government is out of control.
Well, duh. What is not "authorized" is for them to force you to answer. They may be hoping that you think they are.
Could you scan those docs in and show them around? This could be interesting....
I don't have a scanner anymore, but I will definitely ask around and see if anything interesting comes up.

i know its a pollutant but how do you trade something like that..
What ever happened to the EPA doing independent data gathering and analysis prior to implementing regulations?
That alone should be an issue for the courts. Never before has the EPA taken outside, out of their control, research for something this major.
Party line, of course, and the ticket to avoiding a vote on cap and tradew while getting the same results through bureaucratic means.
We might have one election left before we'd have to march on DC from the hinterlands because there would not be enough gas to drive.
Think of the tremendous amountof fuel that goes to raising the most fundamental grains in the US, and you get a picture of a cold, hungry future.
A little study of why Stalin was (and remains) unpopular with many Ukrainians might be in order...
of course they don’t want to give up control...
-that means losing power and money for the EPA.
