Where is all the oil? Nearly two weeks after BP finally capped the biggest oil spill in U.S. history, the oil slicks that once spread across thousands of miles of the Gulf of Mexico have largely disappeared. Nor has much oil washed up on the sandy beaches and marshes along the Louisiana coast. And the small cleanup army in the Gulf has only managed to skim up a tiny fraction of the millions of gallons of oil spilled in the 100 days since the Deepwater Horizon rig went up in flames.

Well, guess what? Once again, RUSH IS RIGHT! Once the well was capped, the rest of the oil magically disappeared! Other than the Louisiana wetlands (which Bobby Jindhal couldn't save because Barack Hussein Obama (mmm mmm mmm) wouldn't let him trench up berms), the Gulf will be pretty much back to normal in a year.
My personal experience with this is- as someone who got a Petroleum Engineering degree (though never used it), I always keep up with gas prices. When gas prices kept falling through the summer, it showed that the oil slick was NOT affecting future prices. That, and the slowing worldwide economy, has flattened prices. If the oil slick was such an environmental disaster, we'd be seeing $4 and $5 per gallon gas right now.
This is so Bummer can go into November crowing “I plugged the ho-ole, I plugged the ho-ole.” Never mind all the doomsaying from his fellow lefties, that went down the memory ho-ole.
The truth is somewhere in between and should be told by the shrimp, clam, etc. fishermen who can’t fish for at least a while because their product is still greased from the well.
So can we let BP off the hook for 20 Billion?
Pray for America

And since this oil and dispersant was spewing from a mile deep on the ocean there is simply no telling for awhile what the other affects were.
It probably killed off a lot of stuff that will never surface so it will be unknown until the effects are seen later.
Mother Nature done went and ate it. It seems the warm waters of the Gulf and the eons worth of natural oil seeps made for some very hydrocarbon-hungry bacteria.
Exxon still has ((NOT)) paid much of the money to those in Valdez, Ak..
And what they did pay was held up in court until many of the victims died..
Did I say it has not all been paid even TODAY?!.. Oh yeah I did..
It looks like they won’t have the damages they thought they would have.
Pray for America
Is that old wind bag still on the air?
Since it's Bam-Bam their savior the multitude of oil has magically evaporated.

I saw crawler on the TV today that the Commies in DC are implementing new taxes on extracted oil; that will obviously result in increased gas prices. They probably still plan to further restrict crude extraction and refining in the U.S. Obama will get to $5/gal; no doubt about it. If he gets re-elected (shudder) we’ll see $9/gal before we get rid of him.
“Is that old wind bag still on the air?”
Yeah, al baby, you’re still on the air.
So, when are they going to turn the charter boats loose on the gulf again?
I figure after the 3 month+ layoff charter boat prices should be down and the fish ought to be biting.
Fortunately, we have much warmer waters here, which are far friendlier than Alaskan waters to natural bioremediation.
That sucks, of course, that Exxon never compensated the area fishermen for anywhere close to the damages they suffered directly to their business. Whether this is too much in the other direction remains to be seen (BP has shelled out an amount way over what its legal liability cap would be, which is fine if they want to do it voluntarily, but if it was extorted by Obama it is not so fine).
I still see oil every day on the lake surface, so there is plenty around. Unfortunately, no one can see the oil out in the gulf or under the surface of the gulf because BP is still controlling this area through the Coast Guard.
Further proof that man is incapable of destroying the planet.
Man may destroy himself, but the planet will always manage to repair itself, no matter what man may throw at him.
Rid-X?? I use it in my septic tank!
The statement about scooping up a tiny fraction isn’t accurate. The skimming, burnoff, and production efforts have gotten more that a quarter of it. A sizable portion of the rest of it has been handled by natural processes, or never made it to the surface.
The bottom line is the MSM has been defrauding the public and is now frantically trying to explain what happened to the “missing” oil that was never there to the degree that they portrayed it.
How much you want to bet in a few years we will be hearing about the endangered petroleum eating bacteria and all (insert whatever economically profitable activity) must cease so that they will survive.
Seriously tho, the little critters are there and eat the natural oil seepage. It would be interesting to know who eats them.
Don’t forget the oysters. They can’t swim to other clearer waters like the more locomotive species.
I don’t think I’m gonna want to eat any gulf oysters for a while.
