After thinking about this I have come to the conclusion that the Mexican drug cartels own our government. Think about it. Why else would the government leave the border open? They are getting paid off... big time.

The whole Mexico/US seems more like the Israeli/Palestinian issue to me everyday.
They leave the border open to invite in new "immigrants" so that they can legalize them and thus make them pay into social security, medicare and the various other government ponzi schemes, so that those politically untouchable entitlements can limp along for a few more years before collapsing into a heap of rubble...with all the accompanying political upheaval that will cause. Our government's ponzi schemes require an ever increasing population so that those working can pay for the exploding number of retirees. No one wants to be the party in power when the music stops on the entitlements.
