MILWAUKEE (AP) -NASCAR team owner Jack Roush was in serious but stable condition after walking away from a plane crash in Wisconsin on Tuesday night.
"There are injuries. Possible surgery,'' Roush Fenway Racing president Geoff Smith said in a text message to The Associated Press. "But he walked out of the plane.''

Beat me by a minute...
Not his first plane crash... Whew!
Unbelieveable, ha?
Green Bay’s local news is reporting that Jack is in critical condition, but this seems to differ from other reports. The co-pilot is listed in good condition.
Prayers for both.
I was listening to the KOSH tower comms via the internet stream when this happened, they had to shut down all traffic which left a lot of unhappy folks on the ground and in the air. But the ATC guys were real pros and it all worked out OK as they were able to open up Runway 27 shortly and started expediting planes back off the field. Hope he comes out OK.
“Flying” magazine did big 5-6 page story on Jack and this plane a few months ago.
Wonder if they will do a follow up?
Stay out of Wisconsin if you have a plane crash. Look what the hell they are using for emergency equipment. A 60’s VW Beetle with some orange lights on a plywood cut out.
Jack was landing to attend the worlds largest airshow. The bug is one of the Experimental Aircraft Association’s airport/airshow vehicles. They have a fleet of them. It’s part of the charm....
The photo here shows Roush walking out of the aircraft. He was really beat up and bloody. The photo is pretty graphic.
What, again?
Wife and I were were at Oshkosh in ‘95-’96, and enjoyed Jack Roush and Mark Martin speaking at “Theater in the Woods” about NASCAR pilots.
EAA statement: http://www.airventure.org/news/2010/100727_landing.html
A news video interview of witness said the Beech Premier was approaching 18/36 at slow speed, wings rocking, then wings went vertical, right wing hit ground and cartwheeled with no fire.
Damned lucky to walk away from that.
That plane sure does not look like something experimental.
What was it when it was in one piece?
