Mexico: Prison guards let killers out, lent guns[massacred 17 people and returned to cells]

MEXICO CITY -- Mexican prosecutors say guards at a prison let inmates out and lent them guns to massacre 17 people at a party, then allowed them to return to their cells.

Sunday's announcement from the federal attorney general's office represents a shocking revelation about the July 18 shooting in the northern city of Torreon, where the victims included women and children.

The director and two other officials at the prison in Durango state have been put under a form of house arrest while investigations continue.

Prosecution spokesman Ricardo Najera says there is evidence the director has given inmates permission to carry out drug-related killings in neighboring Coahuila state. He says the same method may have been used in two other shootings.

A sort of work-release program, I suppose.

If we don’t control our borders, we’ll have incidents like this over here.

I don’t understand. With the open border with the U.S. (not to mention Obama, La Raza and the Democrats), why does Mexico bother running prisons? Why don’t they just bus them north, give ‘em a hope and change button, some water wings, and send them to the promised land? /sarc

This is why we can’t allow people from that side of the border here. Thats not a nation. A nation is more than borders. Mexico is a cesspool. Crime is an accepted way of life there. A nation can offer its citizens something resembling security. A nation has laws, laws that are enforced. What does Mexico have? An entire country on the take. This is not about race but culture. We are a nation of laws, they are a nation of crime. We are incompatible. There should be zero immigration from south of the border until Mexico becomes a nation and not just a country and for at least a generation.
Anyone wants to scream racist can kiss me where the good Lord split me.

"Thats not a nation."

I say we take over two Mexican States. Give one to the Nutroots to govern and give one to the Tea Party. Evaluate after two years.

Legend has it that when Hurricane Hugo Hit St Croix USVI, they opened the gates of the local Prison, and the Prisoners began to ravage and loot, borrowing the National Guard trucks for transport. I heard all this from a local resident as there was nothing in the news about it. Or so say the Legends.

Better idea. Just send all the amnesty and open border freaks to Mexico. If we allow them back it will be interesting to see if they still want their kids in school with the children of illegals.

A huge wall should have been erected immediately after the Mexican War.

As a Mexican, I’m optimistic, that there are many deep soul searching Mexicans that are taking steps to get rid of the corruption. I see it in the youth. Many are sick and tired of the violence. Many at the grass roots level are taking back their own streets.

Agree with your assessment. NOT of Mexican heritage here, but have worked closely with, and amongst those of Mexican heritage for many years in various off dock industries, and in trucking outside the Los Angeles, Long Beach harbor areas. It takes one Hell of a lot to get them to take action as they fear retribution, but there is the tipping point, and I believe I saw it approaching prior to my retirement, thus disassociation with the industries, and people.

It would be interesting to know if that direction I observed continued. I don’t see any action by the communities yet in news sources, but not seeing anything in news sources isn’t unusual anymore. They print only what they believe works in their favor it seems.
