Whenever anyone mentions the 2012 election, inevitably the name of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney becomes a topic of conversation. And when it comes to polling data, Romney is often seen as a front-runner, forecasted to be stronger than the current occupant of the Oval Office, Barack Obama.
Increasingly, many of those in the Republican Party think Mitt is the GOPs go-to guy in the next election.
I guess youll just have to pardon me for failing to drink the Kool-Aid regarding the former governor. I just think its about time somebody stated the truth about Gov. Romney.
Mitt Romney is the wrong guy, at the wrong time, carrying the wrong message for America!

If these November elections don’t tell the leadership that this is NOT the direction we want to go, then I do not know what anymore...
Obviously they are not going to listen, and go off on their own again...Leaving us to pick up the pieces again...
McCain got 9 million PRIMARY votes, which was before Palin...magritte
Seriously? Are you shilling for Romney? He is a flipping liberal.
LOL...”shilling” ...magritte
Just figured you were getting paid. .-)
The shame of the RomneyBOT.
PIMPING Romney and the Team that attacks
women and handicapped children. Yeeeeech.
You got it D.
Not knowing who all will be in the primaries, I don't know how you can say that.
I stand with Jason Sager in Florida's 5th Congressional District. |
Hey Graybeard...going with the current probables out this far...Palin, Romney, Gingrich, Huckabee, Paul ... keeping in mind Republican preference for “next guy’s turn” and seeing that Gingrich is going to run as he realizes this is his last shot because of his age...magritte
I am constantly amazed to see Republicans supporting this man.

Hey, it’s his turn. (Tongue planted firmly in cheek.)
.....Romney, Gingrich, Huckabee...

Oh God, I think I’m going to PUKE!!!
I probably would have voted for McCain anyway, considering the dem candidate opposing him, with one notable exception, you can't know how I was holding my breath, praying, etc. that he would not choose Romney as a running mate. Had he done that, I would have had to sit out that part of the election.
I never want to see Romney anywhere near the oval office nor do I want to see him appointed to any office whatsoever.
Sarah Palin can beat Obama and I'd love to see it happen. She needs to clear any non conservative thoughts out of her head and run as a conservative, a conservative can wipe the floor with Obama and a conservative is the only chance we have.
Dude, it ain’t pretty...I saw your other list of newcomers...I like Christie, but the other guys are non-starters at this point...surprise horse may be Haley Barbour...I’ve also heard some talk here locally about Herman Cain...magritte
The only nit-picking I have to do with that statement is that, Romney belongs in a class of his own. I don't consider Romney so much as a RINO as I do that he is a stinking liberal and doesn't rise to the status of "RINO".
AMEN.
This is one of the things that bugs me most about the Romney and Meg Whitman types. They talk about making government "more efficient." That means it gets better at confiscating my money and liberty, charging me fees to exercise what little liberty I have left, and doing it more efficiently.
To hell with government that is "more efficient." America needs LESS GOVERNMENT. I want much of government SLASHED and ELIMINATED when it involves itself in going places the Constitution said government should not go.
The FIRST thing that has to be done to solve this problem is to have minimal requirements on voters. Legal photo ID would be a good start. Vote fraud and manipulation is contributing hugely to this crisis, and the crisis cannot be overcome if the vote fraud is not addressed. This would be a start.
That said, legtimate voters will give Meg Whitman the CA governership, I'm afraid, and I have pretty much determined that they'll do it without my vote. I state flatly: Jerry Brown would be preferable because he would do less damage in the long run and in the big picture. In the short run and small picture, he would do only marginally worse than Whitman, and certainly Whitman can do more damage to the Republican party image than Brown could ever aspire to do.
But here I confess that, while my decided opposition to Romney comes from reading and hearing his words, knowing a bit about his past, knowing some of the Republicans who support him, and other things of the mind and logic, my disdain for Meg Whitman is visceral. She creeps me out. In her voice and her mode of dress, she is the very model of the kind of professional woman who wastes time, plays games, pulls power trips, and likes power. Steer clear.
I wish she had registered as a Democrat.
I like Uncle Newt. the tapes he did years ago on history were fabulous. I think he has gone off the reservation on many conservative issues but I like him none the less. However, I would not vote for him for president.
Romney has a long political history and he is a liberal. He can say what he wants now but his historical political positions and governance are liberal.
The liberals want him they can have him. Romney should run on the dem ticket.
There are republicans who see themselves as moderate leftists and are dismayed by the fact most of the base is conservative. It’s time to purge our side of these people.
