No Proof in New Black Panther Case: Official
Says No Evidence Supports Charges by Right-Wingers That Obama Admin. Refuses to Prosecute Blacks for Breaking Vote Laws
By David S Morgan
WASHINGTON, July 25, 2010
(CBS) A Bush appointee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights denounced allegations by some pundits that the Justice Department is refusing to pursue a voting rights case against members of the New Black Panther Party because of race, and suggested that the charges being made by right-wing figures are politically motivated.
Conservative broadcasters and websites have claimed that the Obama administration is dropping prosecution of New Black Panther activists who were videotaped outside a Philadelphia polling station on Election Day 2008, making intimidating remarks; one man was carrying a nightstick.
Earlier this month former Justice Department lawyer and Republican activist J. Christian Adams testified to the commission that senior officials in the department are not applying voting rights laws in a race-neutral way, by refusing to press charges against African Americans on these issues.
A recent Media Matters investigation has debunked charges that the Obama administration withdrew criminal charges against the Panthers (in fact, the Bush administration decided not to pursue criminal charges, with Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez testifying that the Bush Justice Department "determined that the facts did not constitute a prosecutable violation of the criminal statutes"; a civil lawsuit was filed in the last days of the Bush administration, and a judgment won by the Obama Justice Department in May 2009).

Wow... just wow.
All these people need to be purged.
OMG. If that isn’t evidence of intimidation, then what is? Can we white folks now bring billy clubs too?
What we ought to do is stage a fake voter intimidation that looks exactly the same and see what they do.
I’ll be wearing a Gadsen Flag t-shirt to the polls. Let’s see what happens.
“Here’s an excellent piece ripping Abigail.
The Case Against the New Black Panthers (McCarthy rips “conservatve” Abigail Thernstrom & DOJ)
Yes, Andrew McCarthy ripped this dingbat a new one in that article.
What’s even more outrageous about Eric Holder’s Dept. of Injustice passing over the voter intimidation in this case is how brazen they are about it.
If they want to O.K. headknocking, they may not be too pleased with the way it turns out.
If they are going to call Adams a “Republican activist” then they should have the honesty to call Media Matters a “Democrat smear group”. Heh, who am I kidding?
Please have your next of kin keep the video recorder rolling and post a link to FR. After your beat down, keep up the fight by repeatedly saying "I can't feel my legs, I can't feel my legs".
Read the evidence and testimony again. The tall "panther" actually stood blocking the doorway from one voter. This testimony was entered into evidence.
The reason she doesn't know about it is because she only watches ABCCBSNBCCNN and reads the N.Y.T.
“...in fact, the Bush administration decided not to pursue criminal charges, with Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez testifying that the Bush Justice Department “determined that the facts did not constitute a prosecutable violation of the criminal statutes”;...”
So gear up next election in combat boots, military like uniforms, carry your nightstick, and stand in front of the entrance to the voting precinct. Tell the voters that whites are gonna win this election, and we are back in control now. Since it has been determined to do so does not violate any criminal statutes. The Bush JD says so.
The thing is, the DoJ attorneys had already won a default judgment in the case when their superiors dropped it.
“A recent Media Matters investigation has debunked charges”
ROFLOL!!!
******
From 1995 until 1998, Perez served as Special Counsel to Senator Edward Kennedy, and was Senator Kennedy’s principal adviser on civil rights, criminal justice and constitutional issues.
For the final two years of the Clinton administration, Perez served as the Director of the Office for Civil Rights at the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
Perez also served on the board of Casa de Maryland, a group that advocates for the Latino community in Maryland.
Not to me, but apparently it does to the DOJ.
If you are of a certain race, and you pick on another certain race, the DOJ has been instructed NOT TO INVESTIGATE, nor ACCEPT ANY EVIDENCE.
Example: The BLACK PANTHER CASE.
The 'evidence' is there and the Justice Department has refused to acknowledge it.
Gerald Walpin (fired by Obama for blowing the whistle on a BBALL player who is a 'friend' of Michelle) thinks it has to to with racism.
J. Christian Adams (Asst Atty. General who resigned over the Black Panther case) thinks it has to do with racism.
J.Christian Adams: Former Justice Department lawyer J. Christian Adams made explosive allegations yesterday in testimony to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, saying that a particular Justice Department official openly announced that civil rights laws would not be enforced to protect white voters. He also said he saw race-based harassment within the department itself.
AND YET, that evidence has been THROWN OUT OF COURT, along WITH THE CASE.
Am I correct?
You are correct. The case was already won BEFORE it was dropped.
NOW I understand why Shabbaz had a BILLY CLUB.
If I looked like him, and was such a skinny little pussy, I’d carry a BILLY CLUB too.
Otherwise the little 12 year olds might beat him up.
I believe it is Dr. Malik Zulu Shabbazz who is prohibited from carrying a nightstick to a Philadelphia polling place until 2011.
So you pays your money and takes your choice.
