Local law enforcement was bombarded with calls from across the country Saturday asking about a report that the Zetas had taken over two ranches off Mines Road.
But officials with the Laredo Police Department, Webb County Sheriffs Department and Border Patrol said they knew nothing about such an incident, while Erik Vasys, an FBI spokesman in San Antonio, said the agency does not comment on rumors.

Who knows what the truth is as it is confusing to me. I am going by this posting which states the following:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2558447/posts?page=42#42
The approximate location of the U.S. ranches are10 miles northwest of I-35 off Mines Road and Minerales Annex Road. Just off 1472 (Mines road) near Santa Isabel Creek south of the city of Laredo, Texas.
Since they don’t know anything, fire at will everyone, nothing lives. When the wind shifts south, start a big grassfire. Nobody knows anything.
Rumors are some here have made phone calls to area S.Tex. locals and they are quite reserved to say the least, neither confirming or denying much.
THe regime weighs everything by its poltical impact. I surmise there is no difference with this one either.
I wonder if anyone has goggle/earthed these two ranches yet, proably too late for that.
Now that was funny, you have to admit.
Where the hell is the rest of the local media on this story!!(silly question I guess)it should not be that had to either confirm or affirm the truth by simply riding out there!!
Anderson Cooper and Rachel Madcow should go visit those 2 ranches and tell us the truth about what is going on there. That is, if they are still able to tell tales after the visit.
I am the Admin of the Stand With Arizona page on Facebook (339,000 members). We called the police, some tea party folks and the local NBC affiliate this morning, and quickly dismissed the story. We then saw nearly every immigration-related page on FB run with the blog story as fact. We still consider it an unfounded rumor until proven otherwise.
Breitbart is running this story on Big Peace saying the story is confirmed by second source in the Laredo Police Department.
Actually I tried but could not find all the landmarks they mentioned. I still have doubts that these ranches have been taken over by force. Now if someone has bought them and let the Gangs take them over then that is another matter. After all we have gangs taking over location in our cities, the Mafia having control of certain areas, political forces ruling some places, etc so I’m not sure what the hype of ‘taken over’ means from these blogs. Maybe just a way to get hits to their blogs.

That was the orginal blogger’s story much earlier in the day. Digger Realm or whatever the blog name is.
Ah, thanks.
The only places that had this reported was the blogs,,,
From what I found it was posted first was on the 23rd,,,
That’s a long time to keep this quiet,,,
Still lookin’...
Thats a long time to keep this quiet,,,
That’s whay I have doubts that the ranches were taken by force. Now they maybe in the are much like the gangs are in areas of our cities, the mafia in control in some locations, etc. If they did take them over it is now a private property take over issue thus the county and state enforcement should be invovled. To keep that hush hush would be hard to do for a long period of time, imo.
“If I were a reporter down there, I would contact the landowners in the area to get info instead of the police.”
Precisely my thinking as well. I was wondering if any of the 360,000 members of FRee Republic could find the phone numbers to the area ranches, and perhaps we could ask them if this is really happening, or perhaps talk to the occupying Zeta’s themselves.
With any luck we could have Obama settle this over some Dos Aquis, and Arugula before it gets out of control.
I did not see the sinker. By golly, I want it all!
From what I can figure out, the area of the ranches being talked about is about here:
27.679397,-99.654922 Lat/Long
Plug it into Google maps and you can see there is really nothing there. No structures, small parcels of property. I don’t know about this story.
