That’s a long time to keep this quiet,,,
That’s whay I have doubts that the ranches were taken by force. Now they maybe in the are much like the gangs are in areas of our cities, the mafia in control in some locations, etc. If they did take them over it is now a private property take over issue thus the county and state enforcement should be invovled. To keep that hush hush would be hard to do for a long period of time, imo.
From what I can figure out, the area of the ranches being talked about is about here:

Plug it into Google maps and you can see there is really nothing there. No structures, small parcels of property. I don’t know about this story.
The LEO’s would neither confirm nor deny that this happened,,,
If it was just BS I would think they would just say so,,,
If part of their area was out of their control it would
make them look bad,,,
