In the Wall Street Journal Democrat Senator James Webb attacks both the basis for "diversity" racial preferences and its negative impact, indicating it's time to end these programs.
He's proven himself a political opportunist. Talking a conservative game to his constituents but voting lockstep with his party's far left agenda. So, it is clear that he sees himself in some political trouble and recognizes this issue resonates with many voters in his state.

Of course. Which mean Webb is spouting BS hoping to fool enough to forget he's a lockstep Dem when it comes to the important stuff.
It’s not what he says but what he does.
He faces re-election in 2012 and doesn’t want to lose his seat to Republican coattails.
This is a beautiful story if true. We’ll see.
This is a beautiful story if true. We’ll see.
I think you’re going to see more and more Dems bailing on Bambi. They all knew he was leftwing, sometimes even more leftwing than they were, but they didn’t know he was a Third-World Muslim-identified racist who wanted to wreak revenge on them. Poor Dems. And now they’re stuck with him, and so are we...
To all,
I understand the tendency to pigeon-hole people, but in the case of James Webb and his argument against diversity is a real and convicted one. He lays out the argument in the chapter “The Invisible People” in Born Fighting, pub. 2004.
I am not an apologist for Webb had his broader view of governance, but he gets it right about “diversity” politics being skewed to those of dark skin. The poor whites and others have been discriminated against as much or more than blacks but the discrimination drums are beaten by the ‘colored’ of our country.
Give yourself a treat and read “Born Fighting”; it will explain the politics of the past and the present in a way that you have never seen before.
Diversity hurts everyone except rich elitist Dems. The jist of the article. And true.
It isn't the agenda of people he claims to identify with! Hypocrite thy name is Webb !
There is no conversation to be had with a true believer.
Ciao
Also I have a wonderful letter from Webb's office explaining his support for “Cap & Trade” and that helps out the “little people” how?
Please explain?
I am not an water carrier for Webb. He is just right about this unfair diversity thing. I am as rock-ribbed of a conservative as you can get, but my Scots-Irish history is an exact copy of his. And we end up 180 degrees opposite on almost all issues. On this on point he is a true believer.
Just educate yourself by reading the book and we can have further discussions on the matter.
When I heard about the Naval Academy as to why Webb hated Oliver North, after my experience I believe the story!
Chip on the Shoulder=Redneck
What did you expect? You should have known what he was when you met him. Just get his support for eradicating ‘diversity’ legislation.
Don't worry my experiences since then have left me far too cynical to do now!
I'd love to read it in a manner that deprives Senator Webb any revenue.
You would also refuse CPR from a non-conservative?
