Gee, I guess ending the cold war without firing a shot and freeing all of Europe from totalitarianism really pissed off Meryl Strep? You think she liked Hitler or something? Shoosh.

How? By of all things, playing Thatcher in an upcoming film. According to The Daily Telegraph of London, the children of the former prime minister are “…appalled at what they have learnt about the film…they think it sounds like some Left-wing fantasy.”

Have they seen W? What do they expect from these nutjobs?

Typical leftwing cheap shot.

There is not a single thing that recommends these people - I've scraped more admireable material off the bottom of my shoe.

Mrs. Thatcher is a woman of honor, a patriot and a leader. No wonder the silly, vapid twits in Hollywood would dishonor her, they no nothing of such things.

I've got another film role for Meryl Streep.

LOOKS like a perfect match.

Bet you they omit the Thatcher quote: "The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money" (the popular and possibly a later phrasing)

Margaret Thatcher, in a TV interview for Thames TV This Week on Feb. 5, 1976, said, "...and Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They [socialists] always run out of other people's money. It's quite a characteristic of them."

Political films like this nearly always fail anyway, it just a question of how much money the political operators behind it are willing to lose.

In the next month, her children should go on every news show imaginable in the next month and tell the world what a joke the story is. It will poison the film before it even gets made.

If Reds continue to smear conservatives, especially to defend Communism, you have to conclude that it is because they love Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Kruschev, Castro, et al.

Stalin alone killed more people than Hitler (20 million compared with 10 million).

Yet the Left does not find Stalin to be as evil as Hitler. Go figure.

I’ve always found Streep films to be excrutiatingly boring anyway. Now I see why they talked her up as a supposedly good actress — she’s far left of course. Politically reliable = “great” acress.

The Margret Thatcher will bomb commercially yet probably still be nominated for several Oscars including Best Actress for Streep.

The Academy Awards have become an intellectual masturbation session for the Hollywood left anyway.

The film may bomb commercially, but I recall what someone else conjectured about the Oliver Stone thug-hugging documentaries. They are really intended for lefty high-school teachers across the land to force their students to sit through on class time.

You silly goose. Didn’t you see “Charlie Wilson’s War”? According to Aaron Sorkin, the Cold War was won single-handedly by a democrat congresscritter with Clintonian personal habits.

Ronald Reagan? Margaret Thatcher? Who they?

Funny you should mention Hitler. One of the most successful propaganda victories that the left has ever achieved is convincing almost everyone that the Nazis were 'right wing'. This despite the fact that the Nazis referred to themselves as National SOCIALISTS and subverted the rights of the individual to the rights of the state, in addition to the fact that they rejected or perverted traditional German christian values to suit a radical and collectivist agenda. Many so-called 'former' socialists came out in favour of fascism and and Nazism (Mussolini was himself a former socialist journalist, and Oswald Mosely was a former Labour MP). The ideological gap between fascism and socialism is not the yawning chasm that the liberal left would have you believe. And the idea that traditional western right wing conservatism lay somewhere between Fascism and Communism would be laughable if it wasn't believed so widely. In actual fact, both Nazism and Communism were way over to the left of the Political spectrum and traditional conservatism has never been between them in any sense.

Nazism was just socialism with more overt racism. However, at least the Nazis were more honest about their intentions than the Communists ever were or ever have been. Perhaps that was why the Nazis met their downfall sooner and are now almost universally despised as history's bad guys. Because their greater honesty and the sheer brazenness of their wicked deeds made it impossible for the left to apologise for them and be taken seriously. I have no doubt in my mind that the left would damn Stalin as a right-wing extremist if they could. But those on the left who are not Stalin apologists generally tend to see him as a cynical imposter who was pretending to be a communist or socialist so he could satiate his lust for power. However, even the most agile of leftist mental gymnasts would struggle to credibly portray Stalin as a right-winger, despite their roaring success in applying the label to Hitler and the Nazis and transferring the taint of the latter on to the right wing ideological spectrum they so despise....

Worldwide political correctness continues to, successfully, prevent true, political balance from actually happening, worldwide! A leftist slanted MSM, worldwide, a leftist slanted entertainment world, political indoctrination in schools, worldwide, the “dumbing down” of the general public, worldwide, the creation of “man made global warming/cooling”, worldwide, judicial activism, worldwide,...Where are all of the political groups/think-tanks that will, finally, put an end to all of this pro-leftist favoritism, worldwide, and pro-leftist abuses of power, worldwide?

Meryl Streep Likely To Portray Margaret Thatcher As Depressed, Dementia-Ridden

A new movie chronicles Thatcher’s life, mostly from “the recent past,” and highlights the “power and the price that is paid for power.” Right now, Meryl Streep is likely to star as Thatcher.

Cameron McCracken, the managing director of the film-maker Pathe, told the Telegraph that Thatcher’s health won’t be glossed over, but that it will be “treated with appropriate sensitivity.” The film will be fictional, but “fair and accurate.”

You can create whatever reality you want with that kind of statement.

Conservatives have the most disposable income-by far. Why there are not a string of conservative universities (I can see a lot of parents refusing to spend their money on anything but a conservative university) or tv/movie studios is beyond me.

I decided not to watch when I heard that Meryl Streep would be playing Prime Minister Thatcher. I expected her to ruin the portrayal, whether or not the director wanted that outcome.
