Should Republicans take back the House in November, Rep. Michele Bachmann said she wants the GOP to focus all of its attention on issuing subpoenas and holding hearings investigating the Obama administration and Democrats.
I think thats all we should do, Bachmann said at the GOP Youth Convention in Washington on Thursday. I think all we should do is issue subpoenas and have one hearing after another and expose all the nonsense that has gone on."
Bachmann said that Republicans have all their chips on the table in November. This is the year this is it, she said.
Republicans need to gain 39 seats in November in order to retake the House, which even President Obamas Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has admitted is possible.
By winning the House, Republicans would be able to issue subpoenas through controlling the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which has subpoena power.

Don't forget to wash your hands of all the slime you'll find there, though....
I love the idea, but to keep from energizing the left’s base, I wish she wouldn’t mention this until a week into November.
Another of the slams I’ve always had on Bush, is that he didn’t go after Dem nonsense enough using the Justice Department.
Starve the beast at the same time and I would be for this.
Iranian nukes? Economic difficulties? Fiscal sanity?
All minor distractions to the really important GOP business of giving the Dems and the MSM plenty of opportunities to use the hearings as a medium for repeatedly kicking in the GOP's teeth in the two years leading up to Obama's re-election.
I completely agree with her. No need creating a crusade. Just a thousand pricks of honesty into the balloon that is the left’s sphere of hypocrisy. No need pointing the stinky finger at Mr. Skittles, just his lackeys, one at a time in slow motion. Slow everything up and investigate everything that has taken place to date. Play the clock not the team.
The man has no respect for the Constitution and clearly violated Article I, Section 7, clause 1.
He also personally profited from this unconstitutional money raising gambit when he had a fence built around his property from the illegally gained money.
AFTER you repeal the entire unconstitutional mess.
Congress is the wrong branch of government to effectively deal with any of those issues--except jobs. And the most effective things Congress could do about jobs (decreasing taxes and regulations, repealing BummerCare and abolishing the Environtal Protection Agency--it's Unconstitional--would all be vetoed by the Usurpur.)
True. With the current leadership they would flounder and pontificate.
THEN, start the investigations, subpoenas, impeachments, etc. of ALL the bastards who took over the private businesses and/or destroyed private businesses ability to operate without interference.
THEN, expose the CORRUPTION OF UNIONS AND THEIR INFLUENCE/DONATIONS TO THE OBAMANATION.
Finally, re-write the rules for election contributions so that ALL entities, private citizens, PAC's, 501 Groups, etc. are treated equally so NO SINGLE ENTERPRISE OR INDIVIDUAL MAY DONATE MORE THAN $2500 TO A SINGLE CANDIDATE, POLITICAL PARTY, OR ELECTION BALLOT ISSUE CAMPAIGN.
The last item will never happen, as politicians are bought and function ONLY for the corporate and special interests who donate the big bucks.....

Do you really think that Americans are going to be eager to pull the lever for a Republican if they hear that the “big plan” for solving America’s problem is two years of congressional hearings? There are plenty of other ways to get that info out without doing nothing but having televised hearings. This smacks of grandstanding at its worst.
If she keeps talking like this, the GOP will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. People don’t care about finger-pointing. They want an improved economy. Point fingers AFTER you’ve put people back to work, saved small businesses, and kept local economies from collapsing.
The simple act of calling and urging a like-minded friend to vote on election day is enough to swing close races.
FreeRepublic should create a categories for particular congressional districts where races are close to help facilitate actions by freepers to get conservatives and Republicans to the polls on election day in those districts.
Things like hosting “take back the house” parties on election day can be a big help.
Here’s a list of close races. If you’re in any of these districts, you should start thinking now about how you can get more Republicans and conservatives to the polls.
